I went through 7 bosses in less than 3 years. Too much change in leadership, personnel, company direction to ever succeed in this environment.

My job was to develop business opportunities at Medisys. It was fine. A good group of people.

Pros

This was the smartest group of people I had ever worked for. They had some interesting ideas about how to service the clients, and how to generate opportunities. I learned a lot.

Cons

They changed ownership during my time and they cleared the decks of all non operations people. I spent the entire time wondering if my job was safe despite putting up pretty solid numbers.

Pros

Opportunities for growth are there, but it depends alot on your education and how much effort your are willing to put in without immediate gain. If you are willing to go above and beyond they may recognize it but you will likely gain a little reward and will only gain more work to do for your measly salary. There are many opportunities to try different things but everything comes with a consequence. Now that the Medisys has become Telus, benefits and pension are pretty fair. The staff are great people.

Cons

You'll want to leave right before you hit your 1 year mark. Many people leave for the same reasons: management is terrible and career growth is minimal. Even if you have some part in management, you have little to no control over things and pretty much feel helpless for yourself and team members. Most staff are depressed and the few who have stayed just pretty much deal with it and have been conditioned to it all.
