Pros

Job stability. They don't fire anyone. Even the terrible employees.

Cons

- They will opt for layoffs to temporarily improve their P&L report. - The workplace environment is unpleasant with dirty restrooms, half-ply toilet paper (thin enough to see through), and buildings that are never cleaned. Food crumbs linger on carpets for months, desks are filthy with greasy fingerprints due to the lack of cleaning, and a reservation system for desks results in a musical chair scenario. This setup forces some employees to work in the cafeteria. - The salary is unreasonably low. - The CEO is tone-deaf and condescending. - There is a palpable sense of racism.

Pros

There really aren't many. Nice, knowledgable people.

Cons

You will not be given the tools to succeed here. The internal pages are a shell of what you need to support customers, with hardly any documentation to back up your work. Most people I work with just have their own experiences and notes from past customers to base their knowledge off of. The company had it's problems before the new CEO took over, but it took a massive downward spiral afterwards. The worst offender is the constant logging of every minute of your day. Meditech has killed the idea of a work/life balance and now expects employees to come back into the office while under the same microscope that they have been under while working at home. With the sale and closure of buildings that they've owned it feels as though the company is being gutted from the inside-out.

Pros

As many others have said, the biggest positive at this company are your coworkers and lower level management. There are great people here and most of the supervisor/manager level folks are very real and down to earth. They understand things.

Cons

It took me a long time to decide to finally come here and post a review but, the time has come. I guess you could call me an optimist and I'm always hoping things get better but this has just gotten ridiculous. If anyone reading this is a current MEDITECH staff member, right now before you read even a second more go look at the company financials. In a year where we are being told to "cut back" and "watch our spending" and "raises will be controlled" the top five paid people at the company all took 100,000+ salary increases. In the case of the CEO, 150,000. They're not even trying to hide it anymore. Speaking of the CEO, it was my understanding that to get less than 20% approval on this site you had to be trying. How does one get 13%????? That's mind boggling. When I came on here to write this I could not believe that. The last few years this place has gone so down hill. Tracking every minute of our day because of weak upper management. Yes you read that right, every single minute of your day has to be tracked in an internal disaster of a system. I didn't even have to do that in kindergarten nevermind a fully functioning adult. Pay is horrible, I cringe every time I talk to people of my age and education level talking about how much they make or seeing their nice homes. We're forced back into the office even though we spent three years showing we're just fine not coming in. I think a functioning CEO would recognize that keeping buildings open costs the company money but having staff work remotely saves in costs. But hey, she got her 150K salary increase, what does she care? We used to get decent bonuses, those are gone. We used to get good insurance, but they're steadily increasing how much the staff contribute (we went from 10% to 15%, within the next few years we will absolutely be at 20%, no question). You don't get good vacation until you hit 10 years, which I'm at but should have been getting 4 weeks a LONG time ago. I feel bad for the 3-10 year people. You go seven years without a vacation increase. I could go on and on but you get the picture. I read a bunch of recent reviews before writing this one and see I am NOT the only one. Save yourself the trouble and unless you legitimately hear about and see changes at this place, don't bother applying.
