Pros

Excellent insurance benefits, health insurance is some of the best I've ever seen offered. Room to grow in the company if you're in the right group. Job security, you will not be laid off if you can do your job. Depends on the management group but most tend to be pretty flexible. Great work-life balance, I maybe worked on a weekend twice in 5+ years? Never was pressured into working over 40 hours a week. Good support and training if you do want to make a career here

Cons

Programming experience is largely non-transferrable. If you don't want to be a lifer, don't even bother working here. Compensation is absolutely horrendous for the Boston area for all development roles. "Bonus" is meager at best and it's only substantial once you've toughed it out for 5+ years. Didn't help that all the lifers were saying how great it used to be. Raises are not determined by your management team at all, even if you're one of the best performers be prepared to only see $4k/yr due to continual "not the best sales numbers" even while the sales leadership is lauding their performance in the internal intranet. Retirement plan is a joke, they just started offering a 401k that you need to pay a yearly $65 fee to use and they do not match. Profit Sharing Trust is "okay" but only if you plan to stay for the long haul and trust that the company won't go belly up since 80% of it is in company stock. The company just isn't as it was advertised during my hiring process. It's definitely changed and it shows. It was bittersweet leaving for the reasons I did when I tried as hard as I could to work things out with the company, but upper management refused to accommodate my situation.

Pros

- Great coworkers and lower level management - Good benefits - Low stress and good work life balance. I never put in more than 40 hours/week in my entire time there and rarely saw anyone else do so.

Cons

- Salary salary salary. Compensation is hilariously below industry standard, and no matter how much work you put in you won’t get more than the standard small raise. Going above and beyond won’t be rewarded so don’t even try. - Proprietary programming language makes skills learned not very transferable. Get in and get out within a couple years or you risk being stuck for life. - CEO/upper management are extremely out of touch. - Time tracking has become very strict and you’re expected to log what you were doing every minute of the day. - Post pandemic return to office was handled very poorly. Employees are forced to go back to the office with seemingly no justification given beyond “CEO likes seeing people”.
