Pros

-Pretty good health insurance coverage (paid 85% of BCBS HMO when I was there) -2 weeks of sick time and 2 weeks of vacation (has to be accrued 6.67 hrs per month though)

Cons

-Salary is a joke, borderline offensive (way below average standard) -Very little career growth opportunities (basically have to reply on relations to get a promotion, especially in management roles) -No 401k -No HR (they have their own ombudsmen, but that's questionable) -Proprietary language and software Not that the people here are evil, but it's not really a healthy working environment. You pretty much get treated as a child that needs supervision due to the micromanagement. We are adults, trust us to get work done and be professional. Speaking of work, yes, proprietary language allows you to have full control of the software, but the software is so dated. Not to mention, there is poor documentation when it comes to learning their language, which makes it really difficult to learn and understand. I never planned to work here long, but thank god I left sooner than I had initially planned. No transferrable skills whatsoever. Don't be fooled by them when they try to convince you the lower salary is offset by the "awesome" benefits, which really isn't that great considering what's the norm nowadays for many companies. It's pretty standard for a lot of tech companies to offer health insurance (fully or mostly covered), 401k, and vacation that you can start using right off the bat as opposed to accruing.

Pros

In 10+ years I have worked with a lot of great , friendly, supportive people. Work-life balance is pretty good. Benefits are okay. It’s all proprietary stuff, so it’s a good place to get hired if you don’t have experience. No layoffs ever. Properties are well-maintained.

Cons

In the suburbs, the salaries are lower. Many layers of management can be a good or bad thing. Same for longevity and stability - sometimes good, sometimes it is resistance to change and innovation. Open plan offices are sunny, but can make it hard to concentrate or have uninterrupted time. Proprietary languages are poorly documented.

Pros

For the software developer role, there is a lot of expectation, but less enforced responsibilities. Work is self guided and creative. The people are friendly and laid back.

Cons

Pay is low maybe because stress is low. Performance isn't managed well and many people are not performing up to standard.
