CEO is killing this company

Pros

Getting a start in clinical research, nice office, colleagues usually nice and helpful

Cons

This use to be a good place to work. Since going public, only thing that matters is money. Gone are the days of employee perks and incentives to stay/work harder. Now they can only keep employees via fear (non-compete). Any and all perks are being taken away for thinly veiled reasons. Having salaried employees have to badge in and out of work like we are teenagers is insulting. Taking away WFH days with 2 weeks notice is not only short sighted but evil. How are parents supposed to figure out childcare with such short notice? That could be up to 3 hours travel time you have to find childcare for every day. Not to mention spending more on gas and wear and tear on our cars. This RTO is a pay cut, plain and simple. We also were not awarded any meaningful merit increases or bonuses this year since inflation drastically slowed (….um not it has not! Just their excuse). The CEO makes all major policy decisions, which is evidenced by how poorly they are received. Medpace saw record profits this year and did not want to share those with the employees who made it happen. They only care about shareholders, which I guess could work in the short term but employees will suffer and the ones who can will leave thus leaving nothing but newbies to take over.

We are saddened by your view of Medpace and taken back by your comments. As with many large companies, Medpace uses an access control system for the safety and security of our associates, and we do require associates to use company issued identification while on campus. In additon, we have made recent changes to our remote work policy in support of our culture of in-office collaboration, while still providing opportunities for associates to work from home when personal flexibility is needed. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.

I wish I could say I loved it here

Pros

The people!! I genuinely love what I do, I wish it wasn’t clouded by micro management from the upper levels.

Cons

Having a CEO who has so much power and genuinely does not care about employees is so disheartening it makes me completely unmotivated. Why put in maximum time and effort when it won’t be rewarded or recognized? We all know we’re nothing to upper management and it’s so bad for morale.

Pros

If you are looking for a career in clinical research, this company gives you the experience to get started

Cons

Where do I get started with the cons? They treat employees like trash. People are overworked and underpaid. The HR in the company is a joke. They had two rounds of layoffs citing the ‘pandemic’. It had no issues hiring literally the day after the layoffs happened. Hard working, star employees were let go. I had to laugh because some people who were spared from the layoffs were incompetent, unmotivated and did not want to work there in the first place. I am sure these decisions will prove fatal for the company in future. Nepotism is rampant. You will find similar last names in the upper management. Pay disparity is obvious. I could go on and on about the cons. Stay far far away!

Wow! We’re very taken back and saddened by your thoughts of Medpace. In this uncertain time of COVID-19, Medpace, like a lot of businesses, has had to make some very difficult decisions. Although we had maintained our full workforce with full pay for the initial weeks of the various lockdowns, despite the fact that many of our positions cannot be performed if our campus is not open, unfortunately this is not a sustainable long-term option. It was a very difficult decision to release some of our on-campus staff, and we hope that the severance packages offered to them will help in part to sustain during a difficult economic time for everyone. We certainly understand the frustration and anxiety everyone has felt in this difficult time and we are confident that by working together we will get through this. We are starting to operate “business as usual” and are confident we will be able to continue our growth as the year continues. Certainly we understand your frustration about being selected for layoff and we wish you well in your future career.
