Every service is completely different. Some coordinators are tasked with solely data management, whereas others are responsible for data, regulatory, and patient management. CRCs are generally underpaid for the amount of work and stress they handle on a daily basis. Management tends to point fingers if a problem comes up, even when no one is really at fault. Little room for growth and development. Most people end up leaving within 1-2 years, which means there is always a quick turnaround.

-You are micro-managed to the tee!!!(cannot express this enough). Your phones lines and computer screens are recorded("big brother" environment) . -They don't want you talking to the person next to you. -They hold 1 minute lateness over your head(Yes, you can be terminated for showing up 1 minute late to many times ) -You are expected to take phone calls all day. Like a Robot -There is absolutely no room for growth in this department. If you are looking to progress in MSK this department will only hinder all upward movement. Overall, This isn't a free thinking, healthy, creative work environment. You sit there to take calls and then get criticized from management about the calls. Management treats you like a piece of meat and just wants you to be on the phone nonstop. There are other departments and/or institutions that will treat you better. Don't let them bait in into this department for a small pay raise. Go somewhere else!
