Pros

Great place if you're fresh out of college and new to the area.

Cons

Managers are young and don't know how to manage. Given "homework" and busy work which doesn't allow you to focus your time on what you should be doing, selling and booking meetings. Too much emphasis put on strict "times to call" and 100 dials.

Thanks for taking the time to post feedback here on Glassdoor. We appreciate and respect your right to disagree with some elements of our approach to sales effectiveness. What we do know is that our way works very well for us, our clients and the professional development of our team. Unfortunately, building and perfecting the sales craft is no easy task. Most professional salespeople will tell you becoming an expert seller is a lifelong journey full of what someone might term “homework” or vital training activities which allow a dedicated pro to improve. It’s fair to point out that “learning by doing” is effective (and we believe our staff here gets a ton of that), but learning from others who “have already done it” is equally as crucial. You need both sides of that coin to mint well-trained sales pros the way we do. We also absolutely agree that sales prospecting can and should go on throughout the day vs in a few small windows. However, we use those special sales call blitz times to create mutual buzz, energy and esprit de corps on our sales floor – and it works! We hope you continue to grow in your own professional sales development and our CoFounders’ doors are open if you ever wish to share more of your thoughts on the ways you think we can improve the business.

Pros

Coworkers are good people who are hard working. The idea/vision of the company is good. Good starting place IF you are strong willed and get blessed with a good client. If you put your head down and work hard, you will succeed. The vision of memoryBlue is strong, by offering to inside sales support Silicon Valley companies. The location of the San Jose office is directly downtown. There are fun company outings such as happy hour or dinner events. Competitive pay!

Cons

Extremely poor execution of vision and management. Management will tell you manipulative things. I've seen management conduct very unethical with peers. Cut of salary by 50%, lying about current employment status, not following ethical standards, demanding X amount of dollars if you decide to leave the company, threatening employees that clients do not like them, telling employees to walk out the door.

Thanks for taking time to post candid feedback here on Glassdoor. We appreciate your positive sentiments and will 100% take your not-so-positive comments seriously. Here are a few notes about things you mentioned in your review. We would slightly edit your headline to read, “If you’re mentally strong, take a job in sales.” You nail it with the idea that sales is not the easiest profession in the world, but we do believe the hard work and effort is extremely worth it (and highly lucrative in the case of high tech sales). And we would also take strong exception to your allegations of any unethical wrong-doing or improper/threatening behavior. That said, our owners have a firm “open door” policy and would welcome a direct call or discussion in-person on any of these matters. We’ve been in business for 15+ years and continue to scale this business rapidly thanks to our steadfast commitment to inside sales success for all of our clients and employees alike. We didn’t get that way or attract top talent to fill these needs by making habit or policy out of the things you allege above. We’re proud of our hiring practice even as we’ve expanded our operations these last several years. Fitting into that picture in a big way is our Silicon Valley (San Jose) office. As the most recently opened of our locations, we remain firmly committed to its success and will continue to invest and build it up as the years progress. Thank you for your comments supporting our vision – and we’ll take to heart your advice and feedback. Best of luck as you continue your sales career journey.

Pros

You are surrounded by educated & ambitions colleagues .

Cons

They use fear tactics, having you sign a contact to pay back the sign on bonus when in fact that is illegal in the state of CA , FYI ( you wont have to pay them back )The majority of employee's are put on a PIP contact at one point or another that last a month , this is were they will make you work 10-12hr days to "prove your self " If you get a bad client , you're screwed the quotas are extremely difficult t attain . Work environment is unprofessional , management is manipulative . The amazing training that they say they offer is really you listening to an audio type the first week. Followed by 30 min new hire training twice a week , The people that are teaching it often are not even hitting quota themselves. This company has no code of ethics, I doubt they will be successful in the silicon valley for very long the way they are currently operating.
