Pros

good time off package, flexibility, great work/life balance

Cons

They do not value employees that stay with the company as evident by the lack of raises....every year. Do not expect to ever receive a 2% raise. Been with the company over 5 years and in total have received 3% raise...very typical and yes the employees discuss their raises or lack there of. In the long run, you are making less each year.

Mercer colleague, Thank you for your dedication during the 5+ years at Mercer. We are happy to hear the positive feedback you provided around the time off benefits we provide, and the work flexibility you have experienced in working at Mercer. Regarding our goals and compensation, we do place a great deal of value sharing our successes across our businesses. There are many factors that sit between the goals we set for our overall business and the goals that are set at an individual level – but one common theme prevails which is to reward our talent fairly and transparently. I encourage you to connect with your direct manager to gain a better understanding of our rewards processes if they are unclear. You can also send an email to ColleagueFeedback@Mercer.com to share further context on your questions and concerns.

Pros

Work from home is required for most of the IT staff.

Cons

Mercer prides itself on employing more women than men in the IT industry. They do in fact do this, however the tradeoff is that they pay less than they pay their men, and women have to work far harder to reach management levels than men do, who are shuffled right up the ladder without a blink of the eye. It's all marketing. IT roles are flying out of the country faster than one can say GOSS. US employees are being laid off at an alarming rate as their client teams are dissolved on the US side.

Mercer colleague, Thank you for taking the time to write this review. Our company’s greatest resource is the collective talent and diverse experiences of our colleagues. The more inclusive we are, the more we can achieve together. We take your comments very seriously because at Mercer we have zero-tolerance for bullying of any kind. We are clearly disappointed in your comments about your experience at Mercer. Please contact us at GlobalEmployeeInformation@mercer.com if you are willing to connect directly and provide more insight into your experience.

Pros

Smart, driven colleagues and great office leader. Great office culture and freedom to drive your own career. Lots of diversity regarding types of clients and projects. Within the offices, hierarchy is generally flat and junior employees have access to senior consultants. Junior staff has a strong voice in driving office culture.

Cons

Leadership (executives at Mercer) are out of touch with lines of business and local offices. Lots of rebranding and reorganizing that doesn't make sense or positively impact the business. Compensation could be more competitive. Technology needs to be better.
