Pros

Colleagues are smart and great to work with; a lot of talent to learn from. Mercer does show an interest in giving the opportunies needed to guide your career in a direction that makes the most sense for you.

Cons

Pay is seriously lacking. Mercer is prioritizing getting those who are underpaid up to market, which is great. But, that leaves little to no budget for everyone else. Every year we hear how great the company is doing and every year there are excuses as to why they won't raise pay.

There are alot of check box items, that make the company look great on paper

Cons

The lived experience of the employee is not great, for example; they might have a 'tick' for employer of choice for women, but I would not agree that it is. Having seen 'behind the scenes' there is not transparency around salaries, support for employee sickness and well being. There is a lot of talk of flexibility but you better be in meetings that are put in your diary at any time of the day. Redundancy 'cycle' every 12 months.

Cons

Pay below market with paltry year over year increases, strict hours requirements for junior colleagues (which resulted in work being pushed upwards)
