Pros

Are there any? I cannot think of even one good about Mercury Claims Department.

Cons

To much work load for one person, not enough time in a day, MANAGEMENT IN AUSTIN IS TERRIBLE IN THE CLAIMS DEPARTMENT, everyone is fake and stabbing you in the back when your not looking, they don't care one bit about the employees, claims needs to talk to take advice from UW department and learn how to treat employee's and keep them around. They play favorites with certain employee's. There are some employee's that get away with stuff that others are getting fired for, because their supervisor covers for them. They really need to get proper training, advice on how to treat the employee's, and a little ethics and moral's. If you are thinking about working here RUN..RUN as fast as you can.

Pros

Still some nice tenured sups and coworkers. Holiday Bonus of 2 weeks Pay. Free parking

Cons

Workload and essential job functions are unrealistic for one educated hard working multi tasking employee. You have to either violate work functions like answering phones in order to be 100% compliant with Dept. of Insurance and State Laws. It's always a rob-Peter-to-pay-Paul work environment here that no ethical employee enjoys but we can only do so much in a day. Most employees feel badly that customers do not know what happens inside the offices daily.

Pros

Very little. The Christmas bonus is nice.

Cons

The two female managers upstairs near the big wooden doors. They spend most of the day gossiping about other managers, the Call Center director, the Senior Manager, and CSR's on their own team. It wouldn't be so bad if we couldn't hear them, but they do that right on the floor at their desks and expect those of us who sit near them to not say anything. It is very much like high school, and not professional at all. I have been in the workforce for over 25 years and i have never seen such childish behavior.
