Pros

My floor really works as a team most of the time. PTO earned not long after being hired. Benefits and tuition reimbursement. I love that the company is faith based.

Cons

Very low pay for the job. Back-breaking work. Almost all patients on my unit require complete assistance for all ADLS. We spend all day running and hardly get a chance to eat lunch during a 12 hour shift. My back hurts all the time. Nurses can be lazy and call you to do things that they could easily do themselves. Almost always short staffed. Management needs help. Lots of back-biting and talking behind each-others backs, instead of addressing issues professionally and talking to the person one-on-one.

Pros

Smart people and friendly. Pay is pretty good however I don't have a good perspective since this was my first job as it pertains to my overall career goals.

Cons

The company seems to be unstable and requires better standardization in order to provide stability. I did not find it comfortable to work in the highly emotional business settings.

Pros

Mercy Health has good hours for professionals with families. It allows for a good balance between the two.

Cons

Mercy cannot compete in terms of salary with their competitors in the area. I witnessed countless employees go elsewhere and make much more. They also fail to address serious issues such as racism and bullying of staff members. Management alsays sides with management. There is little room for growth both in terms of career goals and salary. Benefits are being cut continuously despite the fact that Mercy has experienced continual growth in revenue ssveral years consecutively. Recently they cut many employees PTO as well as took away their bonuses.
