Good coworkers that care about the patients, and some really great long term People that still believe in the mission of healthcare

Cons

Too focused on making money, have to be friends or relatives of senior leadership to get a promotion, managers turn over often (i had 5 in 3 years), poor training.

Pros

The culture and values are what make working there so great. The employees believe in helping people, and you can see it in their actions and behaviors. There is definitely a sense of community.

Cons

They are among the lowest paying employers in town. I constantly levied for higher pay for my staff, but they ended up outsourcing the department and paying the new employees even less! Mercy is in a financial crisis right now, and unfortunately there are layoffs and cutbacks that are hitting its employees hard.
