Interesting study in poor executive leadership

Pros

Good mission-- although forgotten; several dedicated line level staff members, time-off

Cons

There are several members of the executive team that conduct themselves like errant undisciplined children; this behavior trickles down to the staff and allows for very unprofessional behavior. There is more focus on gossip than real work

Not for the innovative at heart

Pros

Good benifits No micro management Very accomadating with time off If you are new to the industry this is a good place to do self study and learn it at your own pace. The workload usually doesnt interfere.

Cons

Cultural mindset of the city organization (once you're in, you're safe) Lack of communication across departments Improper utilization of talent Lack of motivation in workers Lack of accountability in employees Help desk is a joke You will wait FOREVER for access to individual programs or technologies
