Pros

- Work life balance in the engineering team was a great perk. - Expedited learning experience thanks to a very talented engineering team that once was.

Cons

- Very high turnover, severely impacted morale - No real culture exists anymore, open communication may be a company value but isn't really enforced - Pay and benefits are lacking, the compensation is not at par with companies in the Bay Area; specially for longer term employees.

Nice people with oppressive environment

Pros

Nice folks, smart, people are passionate about what they do. Company recently went public so promise of exciting things to come. Flexible vacation policy and ample work-from-home benefits. Lots of hiring happening now so the number of projects might become more manageable.

Cons

Lots of churn & thrashing. We miss quarterly goals and fail to ship big promises. Feels like the company doesn't know what it wants to be, leading to silos and lack of focus. Too many conflicting projects at once. CEO is passionate but too in the weeds, stressing everyone out. From what I see many people have too much on their plate and are struggling not to drown.

Gross mis-management from the top

Pros

Free lunch 3 days week, nice and laid-back culture

Cons

The company is grossly mis-managed from the top (CEO and CFO esp). The recent huge layoffs is the direct result of leadership sleeping at the wheel. They built up a huge team for growth, only recently find out that they are running out of money in the bank. When panic ensued, they over-react by layoffing 150+ ppl. They branded it as Coronavirus related but the fact is that they did not exercise enough foresight to be disciplined in hiring and expenditure. The company recently spent a bunch for a prime location on Market street in SF and only find now it is going to be half empty. There are so many poor to disastrous examples ranging from product, hiring, company culture and discipline.
