Pros

I work with very outgoing people who work hard. my interaction with customers allows me to provide them with an awesome experience and seeing them leave with a smile on their face is very rewarding.

Cons

sometimes we seem to be very short-handed having more people on the floor during business hours instead of just early morning would really help.

Pros

If you like crafts, some of the craft demos looked fun. Otherwise...no pros as far as I was concerned.

Cons

Poor management from the top down. My store manager lied to the DM, came & went as she pleased, never closed, blamed supervisors got her mistakes. District manager tried to catch her & drug supervisors into it, but also told us we had bad attitudes if we expressed concerns or ideas about store operations. Much time wasted on conference calls. Lots of micro management. Not sufficient time to complete tasks and also handle customers.

Pros

There are plenty of promotion opportunities within the company because turn over is so high. The only other pro is the 30% off store discount.

Cons

Corporate expectations are absolutely ridiculous. The payroll cuts leave the store frequently understaffed and filled with angry customers. Employee morale at my store was in the negatives. Not a single person enjoyed coming into work each day. We all were overworked and underpaid. The customers are extremely abusive, verbally and even physically. While working as a cashier a customer spit on me because I would not ring up the 20+ items individually and apply coupons to all of the items. At my location there was one manager in particular that drove all the good employees away. She was lazy and incompetent. The only work she did was to waste company hours by micromanaging other employees. The only people that micromanaging helps are bad employees that can't stay on task. Anyone that is competent at their job does not need to be micromanaged to death.
