*Disclaimer: I recognize how bitter this will sound, but I am speaking the truth of my experience (particularly in the last year and a half) in hopes that whoever is considering applying or joining the Midea team has a clear view on what they are getting themselves into. Take what you will from this. This sentiment is held by most employees. - Unclear processes, no training & no SOP's. It is a trial by fire. If some people leave this place, certain functions will cease to work. It is hanging by a thread and no one at the top seems to notice or care. I have seen people join, get no training or help, get put on a PIP, and shown the door when they didn't even have a chance. - Company's own ERP system is a disaster. Constant bugs, slow, not user-friendly. Rather than improve, HQ is more inclined to create workarounds. These seemingly little things keep the company from excelling in ways it could. - Leadership has a plan, but interference from HQ in China will never allow Midea to reach the lofty expectations they set. Literally the company version of the Eric Andre shooting Hannibal meme. - HR is non-existent. Head of HR also heads "Planning, Analytics & Execution" team meant to improve business efficiency, but she knows absolutely *nothing* about the business because she does not have the experience. She is not only not qualified for this role, but she holds the livelihoods of every employee in her hands with the HR role. - Be a yes-man or get laid off. There is no loyalty in any company, but at Midea it is now cutthroat to an appalling level. This company does NOT care about you, no matter how much they preach "family." You have to watch your 6 on the regular. The amount of excellent and dedicated workers who have been let go in the last year is disgusting, quite frankly. The air is so heavy because of this, and I really empathize with my former coworkers. - Leadership is more keen to find scapegoats than to actually find solutions. Culture has become cancerous. Do not trust a word. - Pay is nowhere near where it should be for the extreme amount of work expected. Hope you like meetings at night and working on weekends! *Personal anecdote - I was moved around to three different departments within a year with no choice due to re-structuring. Not a single pay bump for switching functions. Did my best with a smile on my face. But got kicked to the curb after years of loyalty and all I got was a severance and a "good luck." I say, good riddance. If you are thinking about joining - take heed. It may seem good at first, but it can turn on you VERY quickly. Remember to value yourself above all else and don't take it personally if you do get let go.
