A "wellness" company that laid off 700 loyal employees during a global health crisis!
Pros
Flexible hours, RSUs when public, ESPP when public, Wellness card. Basically, a better company comp-wise until the PE buyout. A small number of very kind co-workers who drank the koolaid and walk the walk. Fruit. 4 weeks PTO*. Cross departmental mentorship program.
Cons
Senior management is neurotic. Pay is not competitive for frontline while upper management is paid lavishly. The company is disorganized and insular. Must say yes to everything even if it is counter productive lest one is not a team player. Middle leaders will agree to anything to look good no matter how negatively it impacts their teams or the business. Only 6 holidays even though they are "all about" equity, diversity and inclusion. Very difficult to advance without boot-licking. A hot bed of modern Taylorism. Constantly changing priorities with little thought to downstream impacts upon employees or customers. Core values only apply when convenient. *If you are outside of CA they will steal your PTO and not pay it out when you leave since they legally can. Significant levels of time pressure due to arbitrary and unrealistic deadlines. Lots of task masters masquerading as "leaders" who don't actually do any real work. People managers are preferred over SMEs to manage key teams even though they know nothing of how the work is accomplished nor can they mentor their teams in said work.
