Pros

-Owners are dedicated and committed to excellence -Owners are great business partners who truly care about the mission -Transparent and clear communication -Support staff are excellent and trained continuously -Competitive contract -Marketing machine already in place -Because billing, staffing, office space, appointments, and marketing are largely taken care of, I get to focus on what I love doing most- working with my clients and enhancing my business practices

Cons

-The constant growth means that you have to adapt to new staff sometimes -Shared office spaces mean that I have some limitations on my practice times (although they have always worked to accommodate), and I can't personalize my office too much.

Challenging and Rewarding Place to Work

Pros

Mindful Therapy Group has been one of the most challenging and rewarding places I've worked. The work of being in the administration of the group requires a lot of learning and on-the-job training in order to understand insurance processing and client relations. The learning curve is steep in the beginning, but the management understands this and is very supportive in the process. The company is very committed to employee growth, and is focused on building up their own and promoting from within. They value hard work and commitment, and reward that openly. The management is open to feedback, and in fact ask for it. They welcome conflict as a means of building relationships, and encourage employees to be open and transparent with them. Because of that, relationships between management and the administrative team are strong and friendly. Social events are held multiple times a year to build relationships and are always a great time. Perhaps the most valuable part of my experience working on this team is the focus on self-compassion as a method of problem solving. Unlike other places where "the customer is always right" and employees often leave conflict feeling disrespected and devalued, Mindful Therapy Group supports healthy conflict and boundary setting. They stand by their employees and don't tolerate verbal abuse directed toward them. They expect a lot from their employees, but they deeply value their self-respect. Overall, Mindful Therapy Group is a company that pushes its employees to grow and sees the cultivation of their employees as part of their overall mission. At times it is difficult, but it is always rewarding, and leaves employees feeling capable and valued.

Cons

Working at Mindful Therapy Group is not for the faint of heart. Being in the business of customer relations is always going to open a person up to people who take out their frustration on an employee. Being an administrator for a mental health organization like this means that conflict is inevitably going to come along, and it's going to be painful. This job has required me to build conflict resolution skills that I didn't have before, and that's not an easy process. This work is also demanding, so a person needs to be driven in order to do well. It requires a commitment to improvement and an ability to roll with the punches when things get difficult. Having the great support that we do at Mindful Therapy Group makes these experiences easier, but it doesn't remove the discomfort that is involved. If someone is ready to fully engage with these things then this can be a great environment to grow professionally and personally.

Pros

I'm currently an administrative assistant working out of our Northgate and Mountlake Terrace locations. I've been here only for about three months, but working here has already been one of the best job experiences I've had. Starting out, there was (and still is) a huge learning curve, and the team here has been nothing but patient, supportive, and helpful towards me during this period. I've described working here as being feeling like I'm in a "safe space," and that's exactly what it is. There is huge opportunity for growth here, both personally and professionally. The management is great and always makes you feel incredibly supported.

Cons

There is a huge learning curve with this job; learning the ins and outs of insurance and everything that goes along with it has been the biggest struggle here. But if you have a desire to learn and can be receptive towards correction, this is no problem. The training staff has always been incredibly gracious towards me, and you're allowed to ask as many questions as you need.
