Pros

the project is actually meaningful - educational games for children - which is on the rarer side in the world of game development. Everyone at the studio is positive, friendly and highly skilled. If you like working remotely, this is the place for you, as this is a truly international team of developers!

Cons

working remotely can lead to some gaps, but those will be filled in by time as you get familiar with where everything is/who you need to talk to about what.

Pros

Flexible schedule, a some really great people in the team (not sure they will last for long).

Cons

- The hiring is quick, but CEO is not open about the real situation in the company until you signed the contract and got in. - If something was agreed before accepting an offer but didn't get to the contract, it will be hard to get it. - Unclear statements in contracts are treated in a company-friendly way (as opposed to the employee-friendly way you usually find in other startups). Take a lawyer to check the contract. - You need to make sure all important takeaways from your communication with the company management is duly documented. After I've notified the company that I'm leaving, all due payments (last two months) were frozen. CEO proposed me to sign a termination agreement where I either give up a part of my due payments, or agree to receive half of the payments in a year, and agree not to sue the company. That's just hilarious. BEWARE!

We had no such event with any employee of the company and obviously no such law suit against us. This seems to be a fake review by some contractor we terminated for material breaches of agreement.

100% remote, learn new skills

Pros

-- fully remote, flexible with timezones -- intellectually stimulating, everyday is a new challenge. I must admit at times I'm incredibly frustrated but more because I didn't think of a solution myself, mitigate the issues earlier, etc. --If you're open to learning new skills, taking on new responsibilities, you will be fully utilised. If the CEO sees a grain of talent, he'll test it. Even if someone fails their first round interview, but has seeming talent, they're kept on file for future opportunities (they're usually tested later on by a PM for their technical abilities and problem solving skills). -- work with an amazing team of high achievers. In some previous roles my performance was at times tied to poor performers. Here it's not really the case. Those who aren't suitable don't last. I'm constantly amazed by my supportive team members and find myself reading articles on productivity and the like just to keep up with them. If I ever leave it will be to start my own company ;)

Cons

-- as the work is remote, the salaries are internationally competitive, which is difficult if you're based in a country with higher living costs but it's just a tradeoff, I value the experience and challenge more.
