Pros

I had a great coworker. Office job, easy work.

Cons

Miracle Est PUSHES the sale at ALL cost. “Policy” dictates that the hearing specialist is NOT allowed to test a married person's hearing until their spouse is with them for the test “for support, and more information that the “patient” may not provide otherwise”. The ONLY REASON they want your spouse there is to CLOSE THE SALE. As someone at the front desk EVERYTHING I had to say was scripted, all answers to inquiries and questions is 100% scripted crap. We were NOT ALLOWED to schedule a hearing test with someone if we were told their spouse couldn’t or would not come. In my book, THAT IS DISCRIMINATION. It’s complete crap. We were also made to call “past patients” that no longer came to us for whatever reason and try to get them back in to purchase hearing aids, we were required to telemarket them no matter what or how many times they asked us to NOT call them. This was the most horrible job I’ve had. I hated it.

Pros

Weekends off. Holidays off also.

Cons

Too much demand on the PCC, have to buy all supplies but have deadlines to request . When patients pay with cash you must go get money orders so you can scan it in to home office by a specific time and day. Emails all day long from different micromanagers in the company that you are suppose to keep up with all day while you are trying to work and patients steadily coming in. Not enough pay and absolutely was told NO OVERTIME but yet the call center in New York would make appointments that were for near closing and if they were a new patient getting hearing test etc it would run after 5pm but no overtime! It was crazy! Heard from several that they couldn’t keep people and it didn’t take long to realize why. All they care about is pushing those high dollar hearing aids.

Pros

Some nice co-workers at times

Cons

No professional training and then you perform hearing tests on people, mainly the elderly. You show the customers a form where hearing aids are $11,000 but if they buy them today they get the sale price of $5600. It's a racket and I personally did not feel good about cheating older people and lying that I was certified to perform hearing tests. Miracle Ear locations are franchised and if you are thinking of working anywhere in Eastern PA or MD you will see why there is such high turnover with employees. The owners are horrible people and only care about making a few dollars. They will take your commission and tell you their reasoning behind it. They treat employees like children and have no concern for the customers whatsoever. It's really sad to know establishments such as Miracle Ear are allowed to operate with hardly anyone licensed to perform hearing tests. It was the worst job I ever had! Beware prospective employees. Run away fast!
