Pros

The company offers a flexible schedule that allows for remote work and provides a good level of autonomy for its employees. While the pay is decent, it may not be on par with some of the larger IT corporations. Despite this, the company boasts a team of highly skilled and experienced engineers who are still actively involved.

Cons

Over the past 5+ years, the company has lacked a clear strategy. The CEO has been preoccupied with hiring a competent Chief Product Officer for a prolonged period, resulting in misaligned products and a lack of a convincing customer narrative. Additionally, the marketing department is heavily influenced by nepotism, which has negatively impacted its performance. The sales team appears to be either chasing improbable opportunities or not putting in enough effort. The company's tendency to make questionable acquisitions often results in prompt layoffs.

On behalf of the HR and senior management team, I would like to thank you for your candid feedback. Please know that we take your comments very seriously and have been working behind the scenes to make improvements on how to communicate strategy. I would also like to encourage you to personally reach out to me to elaborate on areas of improvement. In regard to the performance of the Sales and Marketing teams, I can say that a concerted effort is being made by HR to track performance more systematically across the board. Once there are robust following the company's ongoing performance review policy which delivers concrete metrics we will be better in the position to identify those who are underperforming to the detriment of those in their immediate teams and the company's success as a whole. ` VPHR Ilia Lykov

Pros

Great CEO Modern technologies Well known name in the industry (Open Stack, Docker)

Cons

Poor execution Incompetent middle management At some point most of Directors of Engineering were ex-developers without proper expertise and corporate culture. These "directors" were responsible for teams 100+ engineers. Leaders were incompetent. The company has tried to hire architects experts, but they never have voice and authority to make impact, loyalty was more important than skills. This killed the engineering organization.

Dear Colleague, I am very sorry to hear about your negative experience while employed at Mirantis. The company has approximately 150 managers and most have a wide range of experience. I have not received this type of feedback in any recent exit interviews, and I would like to schedule a time to speak with you. If you could please email me at ilykov@mirantis.com, I will consider your feedback and take action. We are constantly working to make our management team better and provide them with the most up-to-date training available. We also provide the 15Five platform to facilitate communication between managers and employees. According to the Q1 2022 engagement survey powered by Glint, we have 90 pts with the question "My experience with my manager is positive", that 15 pts above the benchmarks. We would appreciate any feedback to improve the performance of Mirantis. VP of Human Resources Ilia Lykov
