Pros

Decent pay, decent benefits, generous time off.

Cons

Hire and fire culture. Constant budget cuts. Sales team is bare bones. Morale is shot, feels like a heavy dark cloud is hanging over everyone,. The team members that everyone wants to keep are leaving the sinking ship as fast as they can, Lots of layoffs, including many long term employees with a whole 2 week severance package. Somehow they continue to get around the WARN act. The only people left are those that can’t find another job.

Thanks for your feedback. We are saddened that you have this perception of the culture at Mirantis. We can assure you that we have not made cuts in recent months lightly. We understand the grave impact these decisions have on the human capital within the business and hence only lay off employees as a last resort. In the majority of instances where employees have been laid off, it has been related to performance issues or that their role has become redundant in current market conditions. In order to help us better improve the process and employee experience we would welcome you to get in touch with me personally to have a more detailed discussion (hr@mirantis.com). HR VP Ilia Lykov

Pros

On-the-Job Training: The company does a commendable job when it comes to on-the-job training. I was able to advance my skills in many areas. This was certainly a highlight of my time at the company.

Cons

Lack of Severance: Unfortunately, the company does not seem to prioritize fair compensation practices. In my experience, they did not provide reasonable severance packages to departing employees. This can create financial instability for individuals who leave the company involuntarily. Lack of Bonuses: Additionally, the company does not provide performance bonuses, which I feel is a missed opportunity to incentivize hard work and high performance. Poor Leadership: The leadership at this company is an area that significantly needs improvement. In my experience, leaders often lacked clear communication and vision, which made it challenging to understand the company's direction.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts on Mirantis and appreciate your service whilst you were with us. In regards to our compensation practices we are currently looking into how we can best make the company for equitable. We recently made a change in the platform we used in order to assess salaries against the market and in the process of finding a more accurate system. Please feel free to reach out to me personally to elaborate on the ways in which we could improve on our approach to severance packages as well as performance incentives. Whilst I cannot guarantee immediate changes, we are always open to new ideas on how we could do better for our employees. HRVP Ilia Lykov

Pros

The company offers a flexible schedule that allows for remote work and provides a good level of autonomy for its employees. While the pay is decent, it may not be on par with some of the larger IT corporations. Despite this, the company boasts a team of highly skilled and experienced engineers who are still actively involved.

Cons

Over the past 5+ years, the company has lacked a clear strategy. The CEO has been preoccupied with hiring a competent Chief Product Officer for a prolonged period, resulting in misaligned products and a lack of a convincing customer narrative. Additionally, the marketing department is heavily influenced by nepotism, which has negatively impacted its performance. The sales team appears to be either chasing improbable opportunities or not putting in enough effort. The company's tendency to make questionable acquisitions often results in prompt layoffs.

On behalf of the HR and senior management team, I would like to thank you for your candid feedback. Please know that we take your comments very seriously and have been working behind the scenes to make improvements on how to communicate strategy. I would also like to encourage you to personally reach out to me to elaborate on areas of improvement. In regard to the performance of the Sales and Marketing teams, I can say that a concerted effort is being made by HR to track performance more systematically across the board. Once there are robust following the company's ongoing performance review policy which delivers concrete metrics we will be better in the position to identify those who are underperforming to the detriment of those in their immediate teams and the company's success as a whole. ` VPHR Ilia Lykov
