Company is going downhill

Pros

Remote work Some people are great to work with

Cons

Echoing the other reviews here — the company only cares about profitability. Every project is urgent and done hastily, at a detriment to quality, and no one seems happy.

Hi there -- Thank you so much for your feedback. We understand it can be frustrating to feel like Company priorities have shifted. We don’t believe that being profitable and our mission of being an online, sustainable grocery store are mutually exclusive. It’s necessary for us to become a profitable, self-sustaining company to reach a lot of our mission driven goals- however, our north star will always be to reduce food waste. That said, we really appreciate the candid feedback here. If you'd like to speak further, we'd love to! Please reach out to the Corporate HR team. Thanks!

Horrible leadership

Pros

Good PTO and benefits (hopefully they don't screw that up).

Cons

This is the worst leadership I've ever seen at a company. They don't care about employees whatsoever. They don't listen (they say they do), but they never change things no matter how many complaints are put forward. They omit questions from the all-hands meetings, lower tier employees are kept in the dark about everything from financial information to decisions taken regarding positions and pay (managers and directors don't even know what is going on to be able to relay important to direct reports) until AFTER the impact has already happened. Leadership answers questions with "I don't know, I don't have those answers yet, we're trying to figure it out" but then ask you to keep asking questions when they clearly never have/or want to give answers. Nobody in this company is happy, not acquired IF employees, not current and legacy MM employees. 2 rounds of layoffs in the midst of key projects and migrations leave tension and more work for those left behind all at the same time that they announce that several employees will have bonuses cut/reduced. Lay off half the company and cut the pay for several of those left behind when they have even more work to do because of the layoffs! CEO encourages and promotes a hustle culture of getting things done as quickly as possible without much thought behind it. Once projects are complete, tools and systems don't function properly, data is broken, there is no one to manage the completed project, but we got it done faster than 90% of other companies! This company only cares about making a profit. There is no mission, there are no morals, just money making. Leadership needs to learn transparency and communication, however, the best thing for this company at this point would be a complete reset of leadership.

Hello! Thank you for your thoughtful feedback. We recognize that the past few months have been tough on our organization(s) as we completed the acquisition of Imperfect Foods. Unfortunately layoffs were necessary due to redundancy in certain areas of the business. We certainly understand how hard this is. We know that the pace in which we needed to work through the post merger integration work was a tough one and that often decisions needed to be made and executed on quickly - but we have since closed a majority of the PMI related tasks and are turning the page to one combined team! Lastly, we acknowledge that it can feel like business priorities have shifted, but our north star will always be fighting food waste and although our goal is to become a self sustaining Company, we will never lose sight of that mission. We welcome the opportunity to chat further. If you're open, please reach out to your Corporate HR team. Thank you!
