Pros

Decent Benefits, WFH, Flexible PTO

Cons

Upper Management is clueless about the company's finances. They hire people just to lay them off after 3 months. They are all talk about diversity but will gaslight and lay black employees off at any moment. They hire black people to fill diversity quota and for photo opps.

Mission is committed to hiring a diverse workforce and creating a culture of inclusion for everyone, regardless of gender, race, sexual orientation, or gender identification. We recognize that the tech field has long been dominated by cis-gendered caucasian men and we seek to change that through our hiring, training, and promotion practices. We do not hire individuals purely based on achieving a diversity goal or metric; we hire individuals best suited for the role, and if they happen to have differences, seen or unseen, from our current group of employees, we know we are better for it. While it's disappointing to read such a negative review, we accept and appreciate all feedback so that we are able to improve how we do things. If you're open, we welcome you to come and speak with us directly about the specific details of your experience.

organizational changes negatively disrupting a well-built culture

Pros

- fully remote workforce/flexibility - work/life balance and boundaries between work/personal life are generally well-respected and upheld - awesome people across all teams who are kind, helpful, and excellent at what they do - many in-company groups and activities to participate in (employee resource groups, company challenges, and slack channels of activities/hobbies of interest to discuss and share) - new hire perks like a stipend for additional expenses after 6-months of employment

Cons

- a lot of talk when it comes to culture and putting people first but not in execution when it matters, two rounds of layoffs within six months (September 2022 and January 2023) with minimal severance packages (two weeks severance pay, only one month of health insurance, no formal professional placement assistance, no vacation payout since the company follows a flexible/unlimited PTO structure) - some full-time roles cut only to be outsourced by external agencies that seem to have been planted by c-level - within some departments culture seems to be swiftly moving to a "yes man" culture where any counter feedback/pushback is squashed at c-level, culture seems to be moving towards self-promoting instead of valuing collaboration to creating and building quality collateral/content - c-level suite seems hyper-focused on an acquisition/IPO, willing to make seemingly short-sighted business decisions that could potentially erode employee satisfaction or longevity

Thank you for this feedback — we understand that times of change can be frustrating. Like many other companies of our stage and size, Mission Cloud often evaluates our organization against our future goals, sometimes resulting in the need to make changes. It’s always difficult when those changes impact people, so we take steps to support them during the transition as best we can. Again, we appreciate your candor. We continually seek to improve and take action to maintain a culture aligned with our core values.

Pros

Great employment opportunities for AI!

Cons

Do you like automated AI bots? How would you like that managing your AWS cloud environment? That is the direction leadership is excited about. Less value for customers, more money for leadership.

We appreciate your insights, and we take all feedback seriously as we strive to provide the best experience for our customers and team members. Your concerns regarding our direction and the value provided to customers are understandable. It's important to clarify that while we are excited about the potential of AI, we have no intention of replacing our employees with bots. Our goal is to utilize AI technologies to enhance the capabilities of our workforce, not to replace them. By automating certain tasks that are repetitive, we aim to free up our employees' time so they can focus on more creative and strategic aspects of their roles. A strong, human-led vision and strategy is vital, even as we embrace innovative technologies. This approach enables our employees to perform at their best and deliver even greater value to our customers.
