Worst job ever

Pros

My DM lets me come in whenever I want.

Cons

Management is the worst, from the VP to the DD and even at the DM levels. They just promoted a DM to a DD and it has gotten worse. They micromanage and threaten you with your job if you do not preform but they have no real training in place. They had someone come down from corporate but she was a joke as well. Management is very deceiving and they only care about where the next sub is coming from. They keep working the top producers and never reward them. The type of environment sucks for anyone to work in. All of the Recruiters I work with are all actively interviewing elsewhere.

Pros

- Accrued PTO is nice - Have three computer monitors - Business casual attire - Free donuts/bagels sometimes

Cons

Everyone in the office is frustrated and miserable working here. Recruiters keep leaving left and right and all management has to say is "we need more people to fill these seats" or "why is it so empty in here?" You feel like you are walking on eggshells everyday working here unless you are one of the few favorites who get to leave early randomly, take long lunch breaks, and come in late. The goals are unrealistic considering most teams are only recruiting for one client account. Management is always saying how they want us to stay late and work through lunch, but last time I checked it is against the law to force employees to work through lunch. Work life balance is non existent. They expect us to stay late and not spend time with our loved ones just to get a "sub." Delivery managers seem to not care about their job. Always away from their desks, coming in late, leaving early, etc. It is unfortunate when your supervisor does not even seem to care about his/her job let alone the team. The same recruiters are praised every month for "producing" otherwise known as "cross subbing." A few of the redundant phrase we hear over again here include, "smile and dial", "Do we have any subs coming?," "Why don't we get a low hanging fruit", "if you just pick up the phone and call people your job is easy." I would like new management to be hired to take a different approach to this operation. It is a toxic work environment, everyone is clearly unhappy working here and constantly applying for other positions. The pay is low compared to other Recruiting roles with competitors, and there are not nearly as many starts as management thought there would be per recruiter therefore no one is making the money they were convinced they would be making when interviewing.

Pros

Great company culture. Strong entry level recruiting role. Your learn a ton about the business world, how to climb the corporate ladder and the types of backgrounds, personalities and skill sets that make it into senior leadership positions in Fortune 500 companies.

Cons

Little to no room for growth within the company. If you are promoted it really only equates to about $50 more a paycheck. The direct managers and team leads are all great people but upper management (CEOs, VPs) simply do not care about the lower level managers and recruiters. Upper management has a strict sales outlook which does not mix well with a company that is based on human resources needs and helping people find jobs.
