Pros

- Accrued PTO is nice - Have three computer monitors - Business casual attire - Free donuts/bagels sometimes

Cons

Everyone in the office is frustrated and miserable working here. Recruiters keep leaving left and right and all management has to say is "we need more people to fill these seats" or "why is it so empty in here?" You feel like you are walking on eggshells everyday working here unless you are one of the few favorites who get to leave early randomly, take long lunch breaks, and come in late. The goals are unrealistic considering most teams are only recruiting for one client account. Management is always saying how they want us to stay late and work through lunch, but last time I checked it is against the law to force employees to work through lunch. Work life balance is non existent. They expect us to stay late and not spend time with our loved ones just to get a "sub." Delivery managers seem to not care about their job. Always away from their desks, coming in late, leaving early, etc. It is unfortunate when your supervisor does not even seem to care about his/her job let alone the team. The same recruiters are praised every month for "producing" otherwise known as "cross subbing." A few of the redundant phrase we hear over again here include, "smile and dial", "Do we have any subs coming?," "Why don't we get a low hanging fruit", "if you just pick up the phone and call people your job is easy." I would like new management to be hired to take a different approach to this operation. It is a toxic work environment, everyone is clearly unhappy working here and constantly applying for other positions. The pay is low compared to other Recruiting roles with competitors, and there are not nearly as many starts as management thought there would be per recruiter therefore no one is making the money they were convinced they would be making when interviewing.

Pros

The culture was truly amazing. They did a good job at hiring on a team of great, social, and memorable employees that made walking in every day feel great. This is also a great company to springboard your recruiting career to find a real job in IT staffing. Take what you learn here with stride, but don't expect to make a career in recruiting in this particular office, unless you move to corporate, parent companies. Free coffee and donuts was nice.

Cons

Upper management is literally incompetent. Spending more time trying to desperately figure out how to connect with the millennial crowd that they hired, that same "culture" that they lured everyone in with and built in the beginning has been absolutely destroyed in every regard. Leadership only cares about where the next client submittal comes from to feed a fake KPI that is created internally, and this problem has only gotten worse with a recent promotion in the office. Certain managers tell you one thing, then go behind closed doors and say another thing to each other. Nothing at all is constant or fluid, leadership makes you feel like garbage with passive aggressive comments about not staying late every single day (while they go home early, arrive late constantly), and our jobs were constantly being threatened if we weren't hitting the extremely unreasonable metrics. Management likes to remind us frequently that these KPI numbers (and pay scale, for that matter) are "industry standard", but in hindsight, this is definitely not the case. Modis requisitions are not stable or reliable enough to ever reach the "uncapped commission" they hark on about, leaving the majority of the workforce feeling severely underpaid, burnt out, and overworked. Seriously. I have friends who work in retail or food service, worked 2/3 of my hours, and made about as much. Everybody plays the system, even one of the managers were fired for feeding their ""top producer"" fraudulent numbers. Every SINGLE person on the production floor is looking for a new job, even the top employees, and management is too stubborn to see the error in their ways - Modis is going to, and has already lost top talent to the competition. It's a call center. The grass IS greener on the other side, just this once.

Pros

Not much when you're at the client sites. Head office there are great Melbourne Cup lunches.

Cons

Management is only interested in their bonuses. Will manipulate their NPS by handpicking their clients so the NPS is amazing. Then the fake news is spread when in reality the clients aren't happy. There are a few eating out of the same trough. If you want different experiences, forget it, the account managers will do what they can (except provide a salary increase) to keep you working in the same client as they are getting a good margin, then when the client has an issue with the company you become stale and are left on the bench to rot. The biggest joke is the Salary Guide they produce they don't pay the rates in it.

Pros

Best in-between job in this sector in the Leipzig area

Cons

Bullying and mobing (older colleagues assume that screaming, berating and insulting your intelligence is the correct way to teach how to make tickets correctly, don't expect explanations though), no follow up by Quality team (first time that the quality team actually contacted me to review my tickets was 7 months after I started), dirty installations (carpet has NEVER been washed in the last 10+ years, kitchen is dirty, bathroom smells like what one in a forgotten autobahn stop), clueless mid and upper management (they never change anything, study what are the nonworking processes, Service Managers ask agents why SLA are lost, extremely long processes that don't work), unchanged processes in the last decade (No CSI, training is unexistent, you ll be sitting for a month near an older colleague to see what they do without having it explained as those colleagues don't want to have low ticket numbers, you'll follow documentation instead of trying to solve the problem and will learn to write down tickets as per documents instead of writing down the user problem: at the end having to correct ticket classification is more important than writing down what the issue is), unability to improve anything (same issues encountered in 2006 when the company was named something else are the current ones in 2019. Management doesn't change anything at all despite being necessary: no templates created, no update of documentation, no processes improvement), befriending management during smoking breaks works better for your carreer than actually working (If you never worked in IT before, just take all your breaks when mid management and quality management does, be their friends). Modis is Adecco. But you will work first for Allgeier or Gulp that is also Ranstad. Or maybe you'll be Adecco first. And you be working for IBM via one of those companies. That will sell your services to a final client. At the end, count 3 or 4 layers of subcontrators till you get to your final client. Process oriented (make tickets) instead of solution oriented (solving issues). Modis GmbH is a clear example of what happens when management sit on their contracts because they are signed for 20 years. They just go with the flow and assume that every problem is solved by hiring more people. Not training them properly (Out of 10 new colleagues none were told the same thing on how to work), improving tickets and processes (no time to change), and making tickets is the sole purpose of the projects. People skills are not taken into account, experienced IT professionals will be set in first level and no experienced ones will be given management position because they have been 5+ years in the company especially if they have not the right skillset for the job (Team leads that don't lead and delegate their supervision job to agents or Support Agent and trainers that have no people skills). Teams are always understaffed (around 1/3 of their maximum capacities) and literally an extra team of 5/6 people job is to let you know you are taking too long offline making tickets. Overtime is usually not accounted for and mandatory, if your shift ends in 1min and you are not available you will be reminded to do so, and work 15min to 45min more without seing any compensation for.

Pros

Salary position - no punching a clock. Management is really laid back. If you're doing your job and doing it well, you're left alone to work. Direct managers and upper management are open to discussing career goals and are generally very flexible with their time.

Cons

Lower end of the pay scale. The culture here is good but this is a lot of young adult's first jobs, so there is a level of entitlement.

Pros

EASY WAY TO MAKE $! When Modis is hopping with jobs you can make an easy 10 grand in commissions. Modis really invests in their employees and the work/life balance is better than anywhere I've ever worked. I barely work a full 40 hours. Make your monthly goal over by 1? you get to work from home once a week. Make it over by 2? you get 1/2 day once a week. Make it by 3? you get an entire day off once a week. They are really good about trying to keep us retained and not burning us out. Yes Modis has had a massive layoff in the past but they are working on making it better by not hiring 15+ people at once. Everyone who was laid off was salty about it but they didnt realize they had to do it and it was everyone who was recently hired - THIS WAS NOT BASED ON PERFORMANCE. All of them were able to find new jobs within a month anyway. The layoff was due to them over forecasting - not the best thing they did but they had to do it. Team building events every 2 times a month. Monthly paid lunches if you make your goals. Metrics are fairly easy to hit when we have jobs to work on. You can roll 40 hours of PTO into the next year. Yes the base salary is lower than most staffing agencies in the are, but when taking a position like this you have to think about what they offer us over what you're getting in return. In my opinion I love it.

Cons

Some of your managers are micro managers - it's obvious when 10+ people have complained about them and 15+ people have left because of them over the past months. Maybe you should listen to your workers when they say some of your managers... SHOULD NOT be in a management position ?? Or take a look at the statistics of how many people have left because of them. Base is low (commissions can make up for it) When you're only producing 3 jobs around the holidays due to the slower season please consider lowering your metrics as they become EXTREMELY hard to hit. Many people were stressed and burnt out as were told we still have to make it to 10 but have 3 jobs to work that are requiring very high qualified hard to get people The sales team sucks - sometimes I don't even think they're working half the time. It makes you wonder if higher ups in the company are just sitting back and doing nothing. They never seem to follow through or bring any real business. Sometimes I won't get feed back at all on the people I send over or it won't be for 3+ months and it's super frustrating and it's hard when you're competing with 50 other staffing agencies who have better sales people.

Terrible company, no communication, low pay for the market

Pros

It's got to be better than selling drugs on a street corner

Cons

No communication (I tried for three weeks to find just who my supervisor was to turn in my 2 weeks notice and noone knew, referred me to people who didn't know, or the contacts that I had had the entire time would never respond back on the subject.) In the end I had to turn in my letter of resignation to a office manager as she was my only reliable contact. Also, they never inform you when things change. Six months into my contract I was supposed to be using a different payroll system and it was two weeks before the system itself notified me through email that I had nothing on my time card. I emailed the only HR contact I had and they explained what had happened. Things like this constantly happened. In other words, your just a number to them if your a contractor and a means for them to make money. They don't care about you in any other way. When I was hired I was lied to and told that multiple people had been hired permanently to my customer after fulfillment of their contract. In actuality no one has and my supervisor told me the first day that they had no room for a permanent employee. They also will tell you that they have benefits. They have dental and eye benefits that are BAD and they will deceptively tell you that they have Health benefits. They only have SUPPLEMENTAL Health Insurance. I would have had no insurance if not for the Affordable Care Act through the government.
