Pros

- The base pay is competitive and the commission structure is awesome. - good benefits - free lunch and snacks -happy hours - great product for long haul market

Cons

- unfair expectations put on certain sales reps. If you are liked by management than they are more likely to be lenient towards you. The expectations are not standardized across the board. - the sf office has a bit of a gossipy vibe - the sales force is horrendous (duplicate accounts everywhere; You’d call call into an “open” account just to find that they are actually a customer - SDR and AE metrics don’t align - management is moving more and more to a micro management style of leadership

Pros

Since coming to KT I've been impressed at the level of transparency and structure within my department. I joined the team because I was looking to be empowered as a super IC. Everything I noticed in my interviewing and in discussions leading up to my offer have come through since I've joined. When I was interviewing and considering the offer everything in my gut felt that this company was living it's values, their was a huge learning opportunity for me and this could be the most influential company I work for in my career thus far. The highlights have been: - Resources: I have access to all the tools I need to do my job, and to do it well. The knowledge of my peers and their support to get me ramped up has been easy and effortless. - Transparency: In my second week, our CEO got up in the all-hands and owned what we've done well and where we fell short. The all-hands actual have structure and meaning to them and highlight specific departments instead of being boring numbers and figures. - Work/life balance: Speaking for my team, we're treated like adults (bonus!). I can tell that my team puts in the work and has the flexibility to wfh when needed and has the flexibility to take vacation when needed. This is something I really valued and wanted in my next company so I could pursue my passions outside of work.

Cons

As the company is growing, it's harder and harder to know a lot of employees outside of your department.

Pros

Remote work and flexibility with schedules

Cons

Its a really terrible culture. Leaders are outright disrespectful and will verbally admonish people in large meetings. I cannot believe HR hasn't intervened, its truly a huge liability. Leaders will make demands, massively underestimate the work involved, and then have complete amnesia when everything they were warned about comes to fruition. Zero career growth. Its not uncommon for people to sit at the same level for 5 years. They'll claim that theres lots of room for growth within those levels. If you think that means you'll get big raises, you would be wrong. The performance management cycle is so mismanaged, they've outright skipped cycles and try to gaslight everyone into acting like they were just "pushed back". The raises you get are an absolute joke and far below inflation rates. Even raises when you get a promotion are laughable, less than 10%. Not to mention they just reduced the healthcare coverage and tried to hide it, acting like nothings changed. People leadership is awful. There are some really terrible managers and leaders at the company that stay in their positions because the company does not value good people leaders. Your Voice Matters surveys have zero impact on the evaluation of the leader. The company flat out does not care if leaders are making their teams miserable, and they enable the abuse to continue. Lastly, if you are a woman, I seriously deter you from joining motive. The company is extremely sexist. You will not be the exception. Woman are treated horribly, disregarded, and disrespected. The worst part is that they have heard this feedback over and over and they DO NOT CARE. There have not even been any empty gestures to pretend as if this is something they care about. Leadership continues to proudly post out photos of the all-male 15 person leadership meetings, not even giving a thought to how bad it looks. Hearing women from across the company share similar stories of mistreatment is so disappointing. This is a company wide issue that they have zero desire to fix. I urge anyone who is considering joining Motive to reconsider. If you have other options, I encourage you to go with those.
