Pros

401k match and unlimited PTO

Cons

Leadership lacks due diligence when making important business decisions, often resulting in wasted resources and projects that go nowhere. There is little accountability for these poor decisions. Company culture is toxic, with a lack of recognition for hard work and talent. Instead, success seems to depend more on popularity than actual performance or contribution. Management tends to focus on self-congratulation, often citing inflated or questionable metrics to justify their actions. This makes it hard to feel motivated or proud of the work being done.

Thanks for sharing your perspective and for all the years you’ve been part of Motus. I appreciate you calling out the positives, and I take the rest of your feedback seriously. The areas you’ve highlighted — leadership accountability, transparency in decision-making, and recognition — are important to get right. We’ve been making strides to strengthen how we communicate the “why” behind decisions, set clearer goals, and ensure recognition reflects real impact and contribution, not just visibility. We’re not perfect, and we won’t get everything right every day, but the commitment is there: to keep improving, to listen, and to make Motus a place where people can feel proud of their work and confident in the culture we’re building together.

Pros

- Unlimited PTO - HSA/FSA - 401k Match - Fairly flexible work schedule - DEIB working on real change - Tons of wonderful, intelligent employees - Many teams are collaborative and supportive - The GTM culture WAS good two years ago - maybe it could shift back?

Cons

This review is my personal opinion. I recommend you read the About section on the company website, check other reviews, and ask plenty of questions to get the full picture before deciding to work with Motus. - Many of the cons of a big, bloated company (red tape, layoffs, difficulty making an impact) — but very few of the benefits (competitive pay, true growth opportunities) - In my view, there’s a disconnect between executives and the day-to-day work that actually drives results. This often leads to unrealistic pipeline goals and frequent turnover that never gets acknowledged - GTM leadership finds a new scapegoat every few weeks instead of addressing the team’s actual problems - Some leaders came across to me as inexperienced and made questionable hiring choices. Roles were often filled with people they knew who, in my experience, added little value, micromanaged to cover gaps in their own skill set, and skated by because they were friendly - Promotions felt few and far between, with limited transparency around how advancement decisions are made - Layoffs happened regularly enough during my time there that it created a constant sense of instability

Thanks for the candid take—and for the time you spent at Motus. We appreciate what you said worked, and we’re taking the rest to heart. We’re leaning into the themes you raised: clearer goals, higher expectations for hiring and managers, more transparent growth/promotion paths, and faster, straighter communication during org changes. We won’t nail it every day, but our bar is a healthy culture and clear paths to do great work. Appreciate your perspective and wishing you the best.

Pros

PTO, work-life balance, fully remote

Cons

I wanted to make this review to really bring up the issue with below industry wages. The company is great to work for, my experience has been excellent. But, taking my own role as an example, I am being underpaid by about 20-30k when compared to national median ( I actually used the entry level median value). Promotions and raises are once a year, and raises rarely go above 4%, and never above any inflation rates.

Thanks so much for taking the time to share this—and for being so thoughtful in how you framed your experience. I’m really glad to hear that the flexibility, time off, and remote setup have been working well for you. We’ve worked really hard to build a culture that supports balance, so it means a lot to see that called out. I hear you on compensation. It’s something we continue to look at closely—especially how we benchmark roles and make sure we’re staying competitive as the market shifts. There’s always more work to do, and your feedback is a helpful reminder of that. If you haven’t already had a chance to talk through this with your manager or People Ops, I’d really encourage you to. We’re here, we’re listening, and we’re committed to getting better. Thanks again for all that you do.
