Pros

Live in a great city. Work in a sport.

Cons

No communication between departments inside your office, and no communication between league and media group. NMG nor NASCAR does NOT understand the power of what they have. This is a company moving backwards not forwards. They have no idea how to reach or grow their audience. Their LA office is nonexistent. They have no relationships, close their doors to outsiders and don't communicate internally. In Charlotte, they have no leader and no organization. They never promote from within. There is no sense of community or support. There are many cliques and egos. On the NASCAR level they have no care for NMG. Its all about the drivers and figuring out what their rule book and R&D. If you work at NMG you have no future within NASCAR. You'll collect your awful check and get screwed so many times you lose track.

Pros

If you are a fan of the sport then you may find this company interesting. Some positions pay well but be prepared to always put the company before anything else.

Cons

Very fragmented management, individual departments are not treated the same. Since this is run by a family member, there is a group of people that do very well. The rest of the employees are treated as assets that can easily be replaced. Most employees have very little chance to advance beyond their current position. The statement heard repeatedly is “you have to do more with less” except for the inside group. An aggressive management group that does not work together but rather try and compete to be noticed. They like to use the phrase “we are a family” which was true 10 years ago, current management has killed that culture.
