Bottom Line is More Important than Anything or Anyone

Pros

None that I can think of. Benefits were good, but have deteriorated. All the good people have or are leaving.

Cons

I worked at NAVEX for over 10 years in a variety of roles and was terminated with one day advanced notice. New management behavior toward employees is insulting and harassing to those they want to leave (in attempts to avoid paying severance pay). Pay is favoritistic and West Coast employees on average make 20-30K more per year than East Coast employees doing the same job. Was told by management that I needed to work on average 70-80 hours per week to be successful.

Worst company I have ever worked for

Pros

nothing really stands out, benefits are so-so; the review process is a joke. Time off policy is a plus, but you have to work so many hours to get job done, you end up on losing end.

Cons

unrealistic expectations, terrible work-life balance, micromanagement and lack of management training. Many in mid-level management have no idea what they are doing.

Pros

Stable employer, nice buildings in Lake Oswego, OR and Charlotte, NC. Payroll errors are uncommon and coworkers are overall polite and friendly.

Cons

This business was formerly known as EthicsPoint Inc. It has since been purchased and merged with several other companies by a private equity firm. The executive team is entirely new and has no professional presence in GRC compared to the C-level employees who were terminated at the time of the merger. The current CEO is a former sales executive of a computer projector company. Benefit costs have significantly increased since the merger, and coverage has deteriorated. Even with their health insurance, I pay over $100 for a prescription for which I paid $10 for on the former plan. There's also a huge deductible before this hackneyed insurance even kicks in. Leadership has removed all incentive programs for the rank and file employees, and they have slashed their contributions to employee 401k’s in half. What’s more, they even had the gall to remove 2 holidays from the annual calendar, and to cancel the holiday party. Although I have worked more hours this year than in the past, I actually earned $3000 less annually. Bear in mind, this company is not suffering hard times whatsoever; we have been written up in the Oregonian as a "fastest growing Oregon company" on more than one occasion. Navex Global enjoys representing themselves as an Oregon company and the benefits thereof. In reality, they have been laying off Oregonian employees and refilling those positions in the American South and offshore where labor is dirt cheap. Employees here must work long hours under the auspice of "going the extra mile" and “being a team player” even though employees can count on this leadership team to always hire externally for promotional opportunities. Out of the last several significant management positions to be opened, all were filled with external candidates. Please understand that shortly after these hiring decisions were made, Navex laid off 40 people to include managers who received “outstanding” ratings on their annual review.
