Pros

The work is pretty easy as the products themselves aren't complicated. There are a lot of good employees and some great managers.

Cons

Leadership from directors and senior management is very cliquey and seem to hold long term grudges. Low pay raises and lower pay per title by major deficits. 3% average raise after 2 year pay freeze while reporting record profits and bookings during COVID. High turnover due to large employee dissatisfaction or finding market rate jobs. Very bad benefits in health, low 401k match, low bonus and upsell structure that requires an arcane wizard to interpret.

Dear Former NAVEX Team Member, First, thank you for the time and hard work performed at NAVEX. We genuinely appreciate you acknowledging great employees and great managers, as that is the environment we like to create. We're sorry to hear that the work environment felt very cliquish as our organization in no way wants to create that type of space, but instead one where people feel fully supported to perform their best work. We're always working to improve our business, and your feedback is shared with our HR team. We want to continue encouraging employees to speak up and have perspectives as it helps us grow as a team. We appreciate your honesty and transparency.

Pros

Pandemic response has been cautious, which is good. Marketing team does a good job. The number of company-wide paid days off is excellent.

Cons

Lack of cohesiveness, money-grubbing, no consideration for value added by employees. Nepotism. Pay rate for females is grossly low. HR is useless and avoids their responsibilities. Healthcare benefits have been subpar for years. Favoritism for anyone at corporate HQ. Little to no opportunity for advancement. Bare minimum. if any, recognition for any contributor below Director level. All new acquisition employees are essentially eliminated. No flexibility in negotiating salary/benefits package. Renegs on commitments to add resources/incentives/bonuses/performance-based pay increases. Leadership at the Director to VP level is a joke, most are unprofessional, provide no guidance, behave inappropriately, don't care about employees, and are just there for the Skamania Lodge trips, ducking out early without doing anything of real substance, getting plastered at company-paid events/outings, and demanding their subordinates provide ROI details/create slide decks/provide proof of team or department performance, etc. that they then turn around and present as though they contributed.

Pros

-Great place to develop an entry-level skillset -Perfect if you're fresh out of college and looking for a first job to gain 2-3 years of experience -Most people are nice, helpful, and caring -Decent benefits -Good work-life balance

Cons

-Pay. Individual contributors are paid alarmingly low rates that are not at all competitive in the tech sphere, even in Portland. -Career stagnation. If you're an individual contributor, it can be extremely difficult to carve out a path of advancement when the company is only interested in getting the most labor for the lowest cost. -Pettiness and politics. Most people are incredibly supportive and wonderful to work with, but a few bad apples spoil the bunch with toxic positivity, poor boundaries, and flat-out mean behavior.

Dear NAVEX Team Member, You are absolutely right - the training ground we offer people to jump start their careers is a benefit of being part of our team; it is also part of our High Potential Entry Level hiring model for some roles. I also agree we can and must do more to ensure people see a path forward both in terms of title and pay, which we do consistently benchmark with a third party vendor for market awareness. We also know the recruiting landscape is experiencing a powerful change and in turn, we have implemented new programs to ensure we offer the transparency for people on their path forward with our team. While I'm not sure which role you hold with our team, I hope you will reach out to me personally to learn more about our efforts. I would also like to learn more about the behaviors you described that are certainly not in alignment with the experience we insist exist for each person. I hope to hear from you soon. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. Best, Cindy Raz
