Pros

Good compensation. The offer some education reimbursement and various classes to improve your skills. Some flexibility with hours and work schedule.

Cons

ISO overload!!!! Layers upon Layers of non-sensical and poorly written procedures to follow... with awful training from bimbos. Now add horribleness of backstabbing co-workers and you are better off finding the exit. The building is dirty and smells like an ashtray... Garbage is not picked up daily. High turnover for good reason.

Pros

Decent benefits: Health care is completely paid for individuals and low cost for families, bagel and fruit Fridays, nice employee purchase plan for products and decent espp. It really depends on what you group you are in here at NETGEAR. Some groups have nice employees and managers.

Cons

In general, upper-management has been here awhile and it's the same old thing over and over. Promotions are not based on merit but instead given to people who are friends with upper management. Bonus % seems very attractive if it pays out (doesn't happen often). Change here is extremely slow. There have been numerous employee surveys and only minor changes have resulted. Additionally this company is spoon fed everything from the CEO. They outsource damn near everything and as a result product quality has suffered. Product firmware is god awful, I wont even purchase our products at a 50% discount.

Scary place to work

Pros

Free coffee and sodas. Espresso machine in lunch room great. B-ball hoops in parking lot helps for burning off stress. Decent pay, although bonus program keeps shrinking. Good location in center of valley, easy access to freeways, etc.

Cons

People are hired into upper management with no product development, sales or marketing experience, and no idea how to treat engineers. Management is verbally abusive to engineers and many are now seeking new jobs so headhunters are calling here first. If you want a product marketing job flirt with management and you'll be hired here - no experience necessary. Others with experience or internal candidates won't even get interviewed. The company management preaches ethics but it seems rules don't apply to them.
