Underwhelming, underachieving environment but nice people.

Pros

Work life balance, benefits better than average. Lot of enjoyable people and fun company events. Team events depend on the managers.

Cons

Vision-less, middle management (and some directors) with no innovation in most groups. At best they are formerly good workers but poor managers. Texas exec team seems ok but they also allow the complacency to run rampant. For things software, top-down management tries and is not being too Agile with little transparency. Groups don't value communication and the results are apparent. Certain execution teams are outright embarrassing and there are no apparent consequences for long lasting, far reaching incompetence. What is accountability? Management fears retention and turnover yet there is no self-assessment on reasons why. There are better and worse places just be sure you want to come here.

Dead end

Pros

Paychecks are sent on time, most of the time (not always). Great opportunity for those that enjoy being micromanaged. The empty and broken promises are most delightful. Self-proclaimed tech company that is proud to push out fast cheap apps while burning out the employees with abusive fear tactics. Fast talking, entertaining folks that like to throw around buzzwords and phrases like "this is not our first time at the rodeo".

Cons

Micromanagers have severe meltdowns over issues that are standard technology tasks after they claim they use to develop software before becoming managers. Micromanagers demand some employees work day, night, holidays, weekends with threats of firing or various punishments of putting negative marks on employees hr records (even making up stories if they have to). Micromanagers demand employees come up with 'innovative ideas' that the micromanagers then present as their own ideas. Micromanagers demand that employees pay for work related expenses without reimbursement. HR supports and promotes abusive micromanagers. HR and micromanagers waste alot of time / money with petty office politics & covering for each other while abusing some employees. All the positive happy stories and promises to new employees are rarely backed up with positive action. Lots of burn out & high employee turn over rates.

Suffocating Management

Pros

Great no cost benefits

Cons

Upper management is suffocating at the Madison office. You will be undervalued and told that you are easily replaced at the salary offered. Office hours are 8-5pm with no option to work from home or flex your hours if need be. Vacation accrual is not enough for the work/life balance they offer. Quality of work is often poor. Office has just been renovated to add a few more desks, but cut everyone else's space down to just enough space to fit 2 monitors. Request for training and supplies is usually ignored, office printer is over 10 years old and often doesn't work. All of this together makes you wonder about the financial stability of the Wisconsin office.
