They don't deal with staff demonstrating inappropriate/toxic behaviour

Pros

good resources within the company, training opportunities,

Cons

Head veterinarian (who originally owned) created a very toxic environment. Though there were complaints to NVA, nothing was addressed. If they did do something, we felt the consequences from the veterinarian afterwards....which led to no one wanting to complain. Direct feedback to the veterinarian did not work either, instead, it led to being treated differently...in a negative way.

Pros

Nothing worthy of addressing for Pros

Cons

We lost all our vets and the corporation gave us NO guidance on telling clients what to do going forward. Every single day was so stressful and sad speaking with clients. Laid me off 1 day before I went on maternity leave and took all my benefits away. OHHH and they took away my matched RRSP because I “left before a certain date”, when they had laid me off. I will NEVER work for a corporation like this again.

Pros

Nothing I am aware of.

Cons

My clinic (which to be fair already has issues) was purchased by NVA in 2022. By 2023 it was a nightmare to work there. All the promises we were given when we were purchased were lies. Minimal wage increases if anything, and no bonuses. Management became useless and even after multiple attempts to get corporate HR to intervene and help there were no changes at all. So disappointed in the way things were handled. I left in early 2023 and many staff followed me. I am glad others obviously had a better experience based on some of these reviews, but I am shocked that is the case. Not a positive experience for me or my colleagues at all. Also of note - I was at my clinic for close to 5 years, one of the longest running employees, and I was treated terribly for the last several months I was there. I was only employed by NVA for less than a year.
