Pros
New offices, most people in most other departments are nice and want to help you. Leadership development, tuition remission, seems to care about students. Colleagues seem generally nice.
Cons
The accounts payable department is the worst. I should not have to continually explain to you why you are doing things wrong. The i-Buy system is rather abhorrent as well. Management doesn't always realize the demands that they place on their administrators. It's that attitude of "Oh, X, will take care of it" even though they ask the impossible quite frequently. Was informed that the role would be receiving help and I have not ever received qualified help. Furthermore, I am not able to disconnect from my position and must always be "on" and prepared to deal with issues. No matter how much I try to prepare for said issues, something ALWAYS happens that is out of my control. Then I get attitude for my perceived mistake when I have done everything in my power. Also, because I have no help, I have no back up and even on my sick days, I have to come in to do things before leaving because I have absolutely no backup. Trying to use PTO or sick leave is HIGHLY stressful. To be clear my rating is for the department I work for which I will not state. I pray that the rest of NYU is better as I am seeking other job opportunities within the organization.
