Stay Away (RBS America)

Pros

None now. At least not until the restructure is complete.

Cons

1. Employees are being let go to meet headcount target, regardless of experience and skill sets. Unless you know the right person, it is all about being in the inner circle. 2. Lack of planning. No planning on who, when, and how the works will be picked up by the left over employees. 3. Can't see the light from the end of the tunnel, probably not until the restructuring complete. 4. The environment is toxin, miserable, and hopeless.

No Career Path in US

Pros

Global Management team is effectively executing a turn around strategy that includes improving employee engagement. People are overall nice and flexible in the changing environment. Diversity is a priority.

Cons

US footprint is intentionally shrinking as part of global strategy. Many of the folks who will remain will have opportunity to do new things as a result of the smaller more agile organization but the firm has not communicated the path for career advancement in the US.
