Pros

Break, lunch, going home, and you collect a check every 2 weeks.

Cons

The less experience you have the further you will go. If you've been in the insurance industry for awhile this isn't the place for you. Stupidity is rewarded. Definitely the blind leading the blind. The training is not long enough or detailed enough for the position. Especially when hiring people that have no experience. Too many different polices and companies. Work load is unrealistic to say the least. Most of the managers don't even know the policy or how to interpret it. They find anyway to make it so you don't get a bonus or raise.

Pros

It is incredibly easy to get a job at NGIC.. Almost *too* easy.. I should have figured things out when they moved so quickly with the hiring process and pressured me into accepting their offer. Could legitimately be a solid career opportunity if you didn't go to college, and don't have a great resume. They are interviewing new candidates nearly every single day, because their retention rate is incredibly low.

Cons

This place is a circus - runs much like a multi-level marketing company - if you have serious career aspirations, run away as fast as you can. I was lied to every step of the recruitment process, and many current employees probably have a strong legal case for negligent misrepresentation against NGIC. My numbers were consistently top 10% in my department, yet the "salary" is about half of what I was promised was the "average" by the recruiter (no one in my department ever consistently hit said "average"). The reality is that they run these sales centers much like a sweat shop, and attempt to squeeze employees at every turn - then hold meetings to ask why the turnover rate is so high - which is really to gauge how angry the employees are/how much farther they can push them. The word "incompetent" doesn't even begin to describe how poor management is here, and I was regularly reprimanded for doing things exactly as my manager told me to, because he simply had no idea what he was doing. Nice enough people, just in way over their heads. H.R. reached out to several of my coworkers about interviewing with the company for the same position they were already in, and had absolutely no clue they were already employees. One of my coworkers interviewed for a job in a different department and the interviewer tried to walk him to the elevator post-interview; not realizing that he already worked on the same floor as them with the same department of the same company.

Pros

Most people were nice there.

Cons

They hired me, didn't train me on their computer system, then fired me for not knowing about things they didn't even train me on. They hired me from out of state to work as a software developer. The problem is that there is almost no training or on boarding process there at all. They gave me the code and instructed me to study it and that was it. The system is huge and very convoluted. I learned their system and had been programming for a few weeks when they let me go for what were obviously fabricated reasons. This company does NOT value its employees the way it should.
