Discriminatory Practices

Pros

Good technical skills in the organization, great speed to market

Cons

Workplace bullying is a norm. Females/people of color/single moms in particular are discriminated. Despite good results, the managers treat you and ridicule you in front of others. Operating under stress and high level of anxiety is a good sign and if you dont show those signs then you are not working hard enough. There are lot of other violations (discriminatory practices) that I'm not listing here but the company needs to be investigated for its open violations of labor laws.

Pros

None to speak of. Just happy to be out of there.

Cons

Senior leadership are slave drivers Horrible system tools Work load Pay Nasty customers Ever since Allstate bought this company with the goal of phasing out Esurance it has been nothing but a clown show. Instead of them taking on the Allstate tools they rolled us over to a program called EPIC that is more fitting for a medical provider than the adjuster environment. They also brought over their corporate work culture which is all about degrading and belittling people ( senior managers being the bullies). It's just toxic and it's only going to get worse once Esurance is fully dissolved and customers are rolled over to the National General model. The phone metrics are quite unfair and unbalanced and will harp on answer rates thru out the day with the constant emails. If you value work/life balance this is not the place to be.

Pros

Good people on my team. Decent pay. Free coffee.

Cons

Project chaos. Who ever talks to senior management last is highest priority. Everything is marked the highest priority, so nothing has priority. Agile is not adhered to-- really needs higher management buy-in. Constant mid-sprint additions are frustrating. Older technologies. Get ready for vb.net and web forms. Improvements are always coming. In the meantime developers not gaining new and relevant experience. Any conference/growth experience must be fraught for if gained at all. If you want to move on or up, this is not the place for you.
