Pros

Navy Federal does offer great perks & benefits to its employees. It also pays better than most other places in the area. A lot of great co-workers.

Cons

Where do I start?? Poor poor management especially in the Mortgage department. Their motto is just "get it done" & could care less what the employees or members go through to get it done. It is definitely all about the numbers. Very bad micromanaging. Make you feel like a child being constantly monitored even though we consistently break records from previous years. If we get praise, it's immediately followed by "but now we need this". Employees feel very unappreciated & morale is LOW. Promotions are more of a popularity contest than based on skill & ability to manage. We don't get paid enough for what we go through everyday.

Pros

Hybrid work. Family events. Decent pay for this area. Free coffee and Free Food Fridays. The Winchester Campus has an overall friendly feel, through all levels of personnel.

Cons

MANAGEMENT IS HORRIBLE AND CARES ABOUT NO ONE. The preach flexibility, however many departments won't allow you to change days you can be on campus. Upon learning though several internal anonymous surveys that the leadership beyond direct supervisors are horrible at consistency and communication, the mortgage department started having many meetings about changes we were not able to voice against. I have tried to work for them 3 times in 3 very different departments, and each time the same issues were had. They maintain a Very High churn rate for a solid reason. My department learned about secret meetings held on how to turn down all aside from 3 promotions that were promised to 14 people to save costs. When management learned we KNEW they planned to never promote, they offered meetings on how WE can be more promote-able in the future years. These meetings also included bullet point phrases to "change around using" so we didn't compare notes and find out.
