Pros

You get a free meal once every quarter and get profit sharing at the end of the year.

Cons

Management is horrific. They lack leadership skills, professionalism, and are extremely passive agressive. They micromanage a lot. Being a good employee at NFCU is not about skill set but about who you know and whose butt you are willing to kiss. Training is terrible. Pay is not very good especially in this economy. Benefits are bare mimimum especially for a company as big as NFCU. No work life balance.

Pros

Working for a big-name company like Navy Federal Credit Union can help enhance your resume.

Cons

While I worked at Navy Federal, I repeatedly heard managers openly mock military members' last names and the fact that many military members speak with an accent. There is widespread unprofessionalism, and no special considerations are given to the unique needs of military members in the mortgage department. In fact, it's planly and sadly all about the bottom line. As a Navy Federal member of 20+ years, this harsh reality was very painful to experience as an employee.
