Even less have software lifecycle management experience. - Nepotism rules. If you're not related to someone on the executive team, it's very likely that you'll be passed up for someone who is. - Volatility ahead. Dead set on explosive / uncontrolled growth, inexperienced and unqualified people are being promoted up instead of bringing in experienced leaders from the outside. Nobody knows what's going on. - Pride or arrogance, the place reeks of school spirit gone way too far. It's great to take pride in what you do, where you work, who you work with -- but it's dangerous when you become complacent instead of being humbled by feedback. You'll hear more "we're badass" or "we're the next Google" instead of "Sorry for screwing up your project, client. Let's figure out how we can avoid it next time."
