      Unclear and ever-changing strategy & vision. Communication is not good.

      Pros

      Decent salaries. Some good and very bright people are still remaining. Good benefits.

      Cons

      The culture has changed completely. Morale is the lowest I have seen it. Lots of rumors circulating. Hoping that things become clearer after the new fiscal year starts. If not, I don't see much hope here. Some good acquisitions have been made by NetApp but the track record in incorporating these products into the portfolio is horrible. Most of those products have ended up being discontinued. Forcing people to take vacation twice a year for company shut downs is not good for people new to the company because they have not accrued much vacation yet.

      Pros

      Standard benefits, however 401K match vests over 3 years Nice Gym, and grounds Under cover parking

      Cons

      -Below market salaries -Not growing resulting in layoffs in May 2013 and another rounds coming in the next couple of weeks -Poor middle level management, lots of cronysm, extremely slow to make decisions, everyone is trying to protect their territory. -Missed the boat on Flash array and are paying the price (announced layoffs this last week) -Very rigid work culture most departments require being in the office and very much a culture of manager looking over your shoulder and its very stifling. -Huge marketing effort around the "great place to work " this is a mirage. -Oh and the campus is situated next to a dump and it stinks all summer long so you cant use the outside grounds.

      Good salaries and comp plans; great facilities at HQ in Sunnyvale; some of the leadership team was very inspiring; good community give back program

      Cons

      Too big to get things done quickly enough; no direction from leadership; no leadership growth opportunities unless at HQ; company does not treat people fairly; lots of people ready to throw you under the bus at any opportunity; it was all about status reports and updating the latest version for your boss' boss; compensation adjustments were vastly different by VP
