Pros

At the time, everyone was really great and friendly, the buildings are modern and cubicles were roomy (until they downsized them). The thing I miss most is the cafeteria, it had GREAT food every day so I didn't have to worry about making lunch or going anywhere. Salary was decent.

Cons

They are having an annual layoff now. Rumors are they'll have a second layoff this year. Company revenue is declining and they aren't innovating. I'm sure they are trying to keep afloat, and they'll be ok for years to go thanks to their cash on hand, but all the signs are there. Unless they perform a miracle, they're going down.

Pros

Good people to work with. There is some room to define and own your role.

Cons

Despite the high 'best places to work' score, this is not a good place to build a career. Attrition and turn over rates are very high. This company hires very experienced people and does a poor job of helping them grow in their careers. There is very little mobility either upwards or to different jobs within the organization. The latter is especially problematic and makes employees unhappy. In addition, this company is struggling. Lack of career development and career path is the top reason why so many people are leaving.

Pros

Good campus, good benefits, teammates in Support are always willing to help out. Good relationships between Field Support and Tech Support.

Cons

As a company they are betting the farm on C-Mode when not all customers need (or want) all of the features. Past acquisitions are 50/50 in longevity where some products die off (Netcache, VTL) that had niche users who loved the products. Too late to the flash game, but I hope the SolidFire purchase turns things around. Support took a big step back when they moved to the 'coverage model'.
