      Formerly great company on the decline

      Pros

      I had great coworkers who would do anything for the company and other peers in the group.

      Cons

      NetApp laid of 20% of workforce in March 2016. In my Field Service group it was a 2/3 cut when they went from 48 FSE's in North America down to 14. and in November 2016 another 6% cut was made. NetApp is adopting a third party service ( and installation) partner model. New management three years ago has introduced many negative changes. No longer a great place to work.

      Supportive engineering environment with high quality talent.

      Cons

      Company has not kept up with the market's shift to the cloud. They are scurrying quickly to catch up but are 3-5 years behind the market. This is causing them lay off people to cover the costs of this transformation. There are way to many executive management levels adding more operating costs.

      I work at a smaller site which is held in very high regard.

      Cons

      As many old and current employees would tell you, this was a truly great place to work at one point and for a long time. Not anymore. I am an eye witness to that culture changing. NetApp is truly a pay for performance company though. You work crazy and put in the time, you are well taken care off for the most part. But 5 layoffs in the past 3+ years has changed a lot of things.
