Retirement plan is mediocre. Matching could be higher

Great Idea Poor Management

Pros

- Most departments are very excited about the great environmental impact they are working towards. - The founder is very inspiring to learn from and he truly cares about all new employees that come through the door. - Very casual dress code - The Culture Committee puts on great parties and fun office activities

Cons

If you are planning to work in Accounting or Finance here DO NOT join. There is a massive issue of disrespect and stress that is pushed down from upper management down to the staff level. The department has a quick turnover rate as they gaslight people who they don't like, which in turn leads to their second issue of being understaffed and over worked. The department also openly brags about how ruthless and cut throat they are towards others in their department and the Company throughout. The younger portion of the department has to come into work everyday and determine what type of mood the Managers are in that day, which will establish what type of day the rest of the department has. It is an extremely uncomfortable and hostile environment. It is such a disappointment because the Company is filled with plenty of smart individuals, but there are too many young and emotional managers that ruin the working environment for others.

And we do care very much about every employee who joins us, so I’m sorry that was not your experience during your time here. Nexamp has grown very quickly over the past couple of years, requiring some reorganization of responsibilities and shifting of teams. Our goal is always to minimize any disruption or stress that comes along with these changes, though sometimes it is hard to avoid. Our finance group is leading a number of important changes for our company, ones that will improve the customer experience while creating exciting career and advancement opportunities. Great company, but not perfect

Pros

- some really intelligent coworkers - solar; a meaningful product, the future - start-up culture can be fun and inspiring - casual dress - good office perks like cold brew on tap, beer, dogs, snacks, standing desks, comfortable office - possibility to advance depending on who you are

Cons

- inconsistent work/life balance - "frat" or "boy's club" culture dominates - PTO should be better considering the hours that the majority of employees put in - 401k match - management's soft skills from top to bottom; a lot of young and inexperienced managers -preferential treatment
