Pros

Helpful co-workers and understanding for those just starting in the field to help move from formal school training into the field of software development. Quickly growing and expanding client base means opportunities for advancement and growth. Breaks to prevent code burn out, fun activities and culture of asking for help when blocked all have made my experiences here good. It is actually a joy to come to work every day.

Cons

If you need a firm structure and a slow moving environment, you may want to look somewhere else.

Thank you, this is great feedback – everyone should have a job that makes it a joy to come to work! I also agree with your comments - we do have a dynamic structure and a fast-moving environment. Hopefully those are qualities that will appeal to many of the passionate, growth-minded people we are looking to hire and retain.

Pros

*Pay you to learn new technologies. -I graduated from college as a game developer coding mainly in C# and had very little web development experience before I started at Nexient. After 6 weeks of training in there boot camp, my javascript skills were solidified, I gained a better understanding of the Angular2 framework, and learned how to use React library. *Very open and friendly atmosphere. -Open floor plan encourages conversation between co-workers and gives the place a warm welcoming feeling. *Senior developers help guide younger developers to write better code. -Experienced developers are always willing to help out those who seek the knowledge. *Game room is great place to relieve some stress if need be. -Sometimes starring at a screen for hours on end can become stressful so taking a break to go play a game is a nice luxury to have. *HR listens to employees to make sure they are happy and needs are fulfilled within reason. -Management always takes employees opinions into consideration.

Cons

*Numerous times you get told your getting put on a certain project so you start learning up on the associated technologies with it but then the project either falls through or you get put on a totally different project. -Not much of a con, but still annoying being told to do one thing and then a few days later you are pushed down a completely different path.

I’m really happy to hear you’re finding Nexient an inclusive, exciting and supportive work culture. Much of the credit for this goes to the great work of our HR team, Fun Committee, Culture Committee and line managers who put a lot of effort into building Nexient’s culture. Thanks for all you do every day!
