Pros

Work from home. Nice coworkers

Cons

CEO/Frat Bro David Sides does not care about the employees, just self-profit. Sides sold the company to Thoma Bravo to his own financial benefit and announced matter-of-factly on day one after the acquisition that this would be "a great move forward for the company but to do so we're gonna let 20% of you go next week." NextGen's flagship enterprise software suite looks like something stuck in the late 80s. Much of its UI has not been updated in over 20 years.

Pros

Great co-workers Work From Home

Cons

I felt so fortunate to work for this company under Rusty Frantz and often would tell people how lucky I was to work for such a great company. Things slowly started to decline after Rusty left. David Sides essentially replaced upper management with Cerner employees. Many of them never held a management position prior to coming to Nextgen. My position is primarily billable to the client. Because of this anyone new to the position is not be trained because it’s non billable. They are assigning double consultants to new implementations; two newbies to figure it out together or a newbie and seasoned consultant to lead. Clients are being double billed and paying to train NextGen employees. It’s an unreasonable expectation of new consultants and essentially stealing from clients. With the recent acquisition and 20% RIF work life balance is non existent. 10-12 hour days with no relief in sight.

Pros

Work from home is currently the only Positive

Cons

Last year they brought in new leadership that has essentially ruined several departments with instituting changes without anything to back it up. Was on a meeting where one of these leaders actually said.....I have no idea how the NG software works - I have not even seen it...but these are the changes we are doing regardless. They could care less what long term employees think or even care to hear our thoughts. Its really a shame what they are doing to this once great place to work. Our rate of staff leaving has been horrendous- we have had such a brain drain from long term employees that it will be felt for years. Clients are noticing as well. Its just so bad.
