Pros

Growth potential in the Electronic Medical Records Industry. Overall good people to work with. It's a small office under the Corporate office QSI. Small office with a large corporate atmosphere. I liked working there overall.

Cons

Under staffed in the Tech Support Department. Very Stressful. They were under constaint to try to sign on a number of small hospitals for the EMR Certification to obtain government money. The problems associated with that were software that was released with bugs (nothing new) and an under staffed Technical Support Department. Very angry clients and a very stressed out Technical Support Department.

Pros

There is a huge market for what NextGen can provide clients which can be looked at as a positive but the direction of where the company is going is far from positive. NextGen Practice Solutions provides assistance for IT services and Billing services for clients of NextGen software. This review is for the Hunt Valley office only.

Cons

When people resign or are fired they are not hiring others to replace thier positions. This can lead to assumptions that they expect the current employees to keep the same pay but do more work. They promised us we would all keep our jobs if we are provide value to the organization when we recently questioned the management about outsourcing. Yes thats right NextGen has an outsourcing company in India called Omega. They started off helping out our IT department and now almost all of our Clients payments are now posted there. Customer service is moving there which is a joke and soon AR services will be moved there as well. This should be the biggest Con of all and I shouldnt have to continue but I will. People are not allowed to advance within the company unless you know someone. I personally have applied to 3 higher positions within the last six months and each time I am told that I am not a fit. No one works with me to tell me what Im doing wrong or how to improve myself. I am tired of sitting in the same spot. I want to move up, have the motivation and no one can help me. Our clients are not satisfied with our work is all we hear in the many many many meetings we have to attend but nothing seems to be corrected from the meetings. Management seems to no know what is going on and promote their friends. Not people who deserve the position. So if you decide to work here after all of this make sure you kiss some butt cause thats the only way you will move up. The company is all micro management. Its all about how many accounts we can touch not if we got a high dollar claim paid or not and the work that went into it to do so. You are constantly feeling pressured to meet a certain number of accounts a day. Therefore people do not do high quality work for fear they will be fired if they dont hit the number of accounts.
