Pros

Nextiva is a very fast moving / competitive leader in the industry expanding far beyond voip technologies. Priorities, direction of work and time-lines can and do change as the market demands for it. This is directly reflected on the development team. Some would view this as a Con but to me this is definitely what makes working here challenging and fulfilling. You're not sitting at your desk doing the same 'black box' work every day. Everything you do is directly reflected in other departments - sales, support, etc - you see it in action every day. You hear the kudos and the criticism - and both is great for growth and knowing you're doing well at your job. There is a ton of opportunity for growth and this is directly, just like any other company, related to your drive and to how much work / responsibility you're willing to take on. Hard work and dedication does pay off. Challenges - a definite pro IMO. There's never a shortage of learning new things and expanding your knowledge. I've learned a lot since I started working here and definitely built up my skill-set more than I would ever expect. People - great! Nextiva's development team has grown significantly and everyone gets along pretty well. Great interaction with other departments as well. People are friendly and everyone is always willing to help before you even ask for it. Compensation - work hard + produce results = how you get to where you want to be. Nextiva is competitive in this respect. Perks? Yes there are perks to working for Nextiva and it's all about great people to me. There are company organized lunches, breakfast, bagels, ice cream etc - but those things IMO shouldn't be considered an expectation. It's simply a way for Nextiva to give an extra thanks for hard work. Overall? Would I do this again? Most definitely! All things considered, this is the job I've been looking for and definitely see myself being here for a long time. Finding a good work/life balance is important for any job. Set yourself up for success and work efficiently and you will achieve that.

Cons

I really don't have anything bad to say. Nextiva is a business. Growth takes being nimble, flexible, a team player as well as having talent. It only makes sense to demand same of your employees. In return you get all the pros I mentioned above. Nothing unusual here.

Pros

So many great people work there in the trenches. Free food and coffee I guess.

Cons

How do I summarize the cons of Nextiva except to say that I don't believe a single positive review on this site. They are from the marketing group, or a result of being paid or bullied by marketing to write them. This company is led by one of the most toxic, bullying narcissists! He leads by fear because if you ever question his way of thinking or doing, he will have you fired. They have spent millions of dollars hiring top talent, only to have them wash out within 12-18 months, or less because Tomas Gorny will not allow them to do things any other way than he did them 14 years ago. As he fires them, he brings back those that said yes to him in the past and will do so again because he only wants things done his way. His executives are fearful of him and have "fallen in line" to his ways. Others in his "executive" team, and that is a loose term for this group, have little to no experience in business, but do suck up in the most remarkable way. The greed of the owner/founder/CEO is toxic to everyone else. His strategy to buy other companies so he owns all of the code is not flawed, but his selection of what he buys is. It's a joke that they bought a social company almost 2 years ago and still can't figure out how to integrate it into the Nextiva portfolio. This latest acquisition of a CCaaS company with 15 people will never result in anything because they just don't know what they bought, or even what to do with what they bought. I watched many people need to take leaves of absence because of the hostility, harassment, undue and unrealistic pressure put on them, and the complete lack of employee concern. Little to no increases (1.5%) and no full bonus payout in years make it a place where you cannot win. This place will set you back years in your career development, not to mention your personal mental health.

Micro managed Company

Pros

Pay is decent benefits are a little expensive

Cons

This is one of the most disrespectful and micro-managed companies I have ever participated in. The Directors and VPs ask five times a day what are you closing what are you closing after you delivered in the morning the expected commits and upside deals. There is a lack of direction and the leads do not support the quota expectations of the role for the AEs. There is a lack of training and if you cannot figure it out by yourself you are doomed. Recently a senior leader attended a meeting where they cursed and berated a team for performance. Not a good way to lead. I would avoid this company
