Lots of opportunity

Pros

Being a teacher for NEI is demanding and it takes a lot of energy and dedication. However, NEI is an organization recognizes hard work, and there is plenty of room to advance in terms of salary and more responsibility. If you put in the work, there is a lot of opportunity at NEI. I also really like my fellow teachers, as well as the administrative staff. The people here are supportive, collaborative, and easy to get along with.

Cons

NEI is still growing their network and their school RCP (where I teach) is in its first year, so long-term systems and processes are still being put into place. You need some flexibility and versatility in order to succeed. If you're looking for somewhere super well established where things aren't likely to change, it may not be the right fit.

Pros

- The team is hardworking and dedicated, which creates a motivating work environment. —Management is supportive. - The work is meaningful, and you can make a real impact on students and the community.

Cons

- The fast-paced and ambitious environment means you need to keep up and stay on top of it, which can lead to long days on the admin side of things. - High expectations come with the territory, but the team’s support makes it manageable.

Pros

NEI is a wonderful company to work for. Our CEO offers her support constantly. She knows what support we need because she checks in with our team during meetings or PD days, and her knowing my name personally shows me she really cares about this company's workers. We are also given bonus pay (retention, student growth, personal performance, etc.)! Any training we complete is tailored to our schools needs, and I really appreciate the fact that we are not "wasting time" in PLCs or PDs. Our school has some amazing admin that makes my job as a teacher so much easier. They are always around, answer any question I have, and support me in every decision I make. I have complete trust in them and know they have my back no matter what. I really value the culture they are setting for our school. Being in a community model also pushes me to be a better teacher. We are able to help each other grow and have continuous support. Management and teaching are easier with a teammate right beside you! In this community model, we have also been able to get creative in lesson planning due to the constant sharing of ideas and feedback. Lastly, the technology we have available to us is incredible. I can use my MacBook or iPad provided by the school to teach or plan lessons. The iPad especially allows me to constantly move while I teach without dragging any cords because I can Airplay to the TVs. The students also have iPads, so we can use that to our advantage. They can do research projects, complete tech-based lessons, and submit work online if needed.

Cons

Even if there is extra work here and there, it is beneficial and done with the purpose of helping these students reach their potential.
